The hotel is a the bottom of a steep hill so not great for those with mobility issues. As it was the height of summer they had made the town pedestrian only which didn't help us with two large bags and a wife using a walking stick. However when we got to the hotel a very kind member of staff took my car and parked it in their garage some distance from the hotel. Bless you.||||Our room #6 was on the top floor with a lovely window box lined terrace overlooking the port. Wonderful views of the sailing ships coming into the marina. The room is elegant with high quality linen and a very comfortable bed.||||The staff were so kind and fed us gin and tonic as we recovered from the trauma of arriving and getting our cases down the steep hill. Have I mentioned the hill before?||||Even though the hotel is small (7 rooms) the restaurant is much larger with an open terrace overlooking the water. The food is good but with quite large portions so bring your appetite. My wife's Chateaubriand was huge and my Fillet de Veau almost as large. Good food with friendly and efficient service.||||When we left, a saint in staff uniform brought our car down through the village to the hotel so we could drive out. Without his kindness we might have been stuck there forever. I can think of far worse faites.||||Highly...
Read moreWe can not say anything better than what a wonderful stay and what a smart choice to stay one night in Yvoire! We were originally debuting whether we should just stay in Lausanne and hop on the ferry to see Yvoire in half a day. At the end we made the decision to use it as a hop for sight seeing and for stay before continuing to Geneva. What a great decision as it turned out! First we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel is just right in front of us when we stepped out of the ferry. Secondly it is such a historic and beautiful building with beautiful views, beautiful upgrades in room decoration and renovation. All the material used in renovating the bathroom is with high end good quality and good taste! We have the room with the view to the lake and it is such a great feeling knowing we are part of the view since the building is such a wonderful sight in town! The restaurant right downstairs is not only super convenient, but a gourmet one! We had wonderful meal there. We also over heard other customers saying that they had been coming back every year...
Read moreThis hotel offers one of the best views we have experienced from a bedroom balcony. The vista across Lake Geneva is stunning and it is fascinating to watch the passenger boats and harbour activity. The hotel has a large restaurant overlooking the lake and harbour and it seemed very busy through much of the day. We tried the restaurant one evening and enjoyed a first class meal - filet of perch, which seems compulsory on all the local restaurants menus, and a cod dish for mains, followed by chocolate profiteroles for dessert. We were very impressed with the daily vigorous cleaning regime at this hotel including the regular watering of the picturesque hanging baskets. The only negative point for us was the disappointing breakfast choice, which was not good value for money. However, no problem, as breakfast was an extra to our package, we simply decided to...
