A must do for your Kyoto trip! How ever, it can easily turn into a nightmare there is so much tourist! Avoid at all cost during the weekend. Go there really early or on the late afternoons. Also keep going to the summit after the two main gate path. You will find less and less of tourists. It's a good 2 hours to get to the top. We were with kids. The shrine is not stroller friendly. We recommend that you leave your stroller at the train station.

We walked past this place after visiting Toji Temple in the night time...there was a Inari festival happening when we were here....saw some amazing traditional Japanese folk music performance...and there were some food stalls and some traditional game stalls...they were unique and interesting....it wasn't super crowded but am interesting experience...

Iconic Kyoto top 10 tourist attraction spot and I imagine it will always remains crowded with streams of visitors throughout the year. Brief walk through the Inari and interestingly you will notice some visitors or even locals clad in Japanese traditional costumes, joining the rest to enjoy the ultimate torii gate experience!
