This place being one of many ways Bayern provides place of relaxation and nature appreciation has not surprised me with how many species of flowers one finds. While the area isn't the largest like similar places, you can't miss it unique representation of blossoming flowers - though they're fading with the passing of Summer at now. I think more can be done by adding sitting areas even through it isn't a place to sit for long. Given the majestic nature of Bamberg I think the fountain in the garden could be much better too. Read moreThe Rose Garden of the New Residenz in Bamberg, is a gorgeous place to take a stroll through and enjoy the 4,600 planted roses, neatly trimmed hedges and lime trees. There are beautiful, baroque statues (created by the Bamberg court sculptor in 1760), fountains and the inner court is surrounded by the classic architecture of the creamy-yellow coloured buildings.
Serving as the home of the Prince-Bishop, the garden was planned by Prince-Bishop Friedrich Karl von Schönborn. It was completed in 1757.

Read moreThe Rose Garden at New Residenz is free to enter and enjoy. It was originally created by Balthasar Neumann in the first half of the 18th-century according to a symmetrical plan. The garden pavilion was added in 1757, you'll find a cafe there these days. There are nice walking paths, park benches, sculptures, centre fountain and balustrade lined viewing area of the historic centre of Bamberg.
