An Unforgettable Day at Berlin Zoo and Aquarium: A Must-Visit Urban Oasis

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Berlin Zoo and Aquarium, and I can confidently say it was an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations. This urban oasis offers a diverse and engaging experience, making it an ideal destination to dedicate an entire day to exploring.

The zoo itself is home to a vast array of beautiful animals from around the globe. As I strolled through the well-maintained grounds, I was struck by the peaceful ambiance that enveloped me. The fact that such a serene environment exists right in the heart of the bustling city is truly remarkable.

One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to feed the sheep by hand. While the food costs an additional 2 Euros, I found the interactive experience to be well worth the price. However, do keep in mind that the machine accepts only 2 Euro coins, so be prepared.

It's important to note that the zoo covers a considerable area, making for a fair amount of walking. I recommend taking breaks along the way to rest and fully appreciate the surroundings. The numerous benches scattered throughout the premises provide the perfect spots to pause and soak in the atmosphere.

The Aquarium, located within the zoo, is not to be missed. Housing an impressive variety of fish and other marine life, it offers an immersive and educational experience. The beautifully designed exhibits showcase the captivating underwater world, ensuring that visitors of all ages will be entertained and enthralled.

As a student, I was pleased to discover the availability of discounted tickets. With my student ID, I was able to purchase a combined ticket for the zoo and aquarium for just 17 Euros, making the experience even more enjoyable.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the Berlin Zoo and Aquarium to anyone seeking a fun and engaging day out in the city. Whether you're an animal lover, a student looking for an educational experience, or simply in search of a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle, this attraction offers something for everyone. Don't forget to take advantage of the student discounts and set aside an entire day to fully appreciate all that the Berlin Zoo and Aquarium has to offer. You won't be...

Aquarium Berlin is an amazing place that goes beyond just being an aquarium—it’s a full-on wildlife experience! I was really impressed by how much there was to see, not just the incredible marine life but also reptiles, amphibians, and even insects. It felt like exploring multiple different worlds all in one visit.

The aquatic exhibits are definitely the highlight, with massive tanks showcasing both freshwater and saltwater species. The jellyfish displays were mesmerizing, and the coral reef tanks were filled with bright, colorful fish. Seeing sharks, rays, and exotic deep-sea creatures up close was an unforgettable experience.

But what really made Aquarium Berlin stand out for me was that it didn’t stop at just fish. On the upper floors, there’s an incredible collection of reptiles, amphibians, and insects. From massive snakes to vibrant frogs and creepy but fascinating insects, there was so much more to explore than I expected. It added a whole new level to the visit and made it feel like more than just an aquarium—it was a mini-zoo as well.

The entire facility was clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate, with informative displays in both English and German. It’s obvious that a lot of care goes into keeping the animals and exhibits in top shape. Some of the enclosures, particularly for the reptiles, felt a bit small, but overall, the variety and quality of the exhibits made up for it.

I also really liked that Aquarium Berlin is part of the Berlin Zoo complex, so if you’re planning a visit, it’s worth making time for both. Whether you’re into marine life, reptiles, or just love seeing unique creatures up close, this place is a must-visit.

Overall, Aquarium Berlin is way more than just an aquarium—it’s a full-on wildlife adventure! Highly recommended for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking for an educational and fun...

Better than expected!

Sure, many water tanks are being renovated, but the aquarium is still worth a visit! Many reviews are overly negative, and i don't understand how you can spend less than 2 hours here. There are a lot of interesting animals that deserve a few minutes to be observed to grasp a tiny bit of their behaviour. We saw snakes mating, varans mating, and there is a very good selection of sea creatures that surprised me (and i'm a biologist). I particularly appreciated the part with the insects where the buccal appendixes are compared (second floor). Very informative and a nice way to teach Evolution to my son.

I still have some constructive feedback, as the aquarium is actively looking at the reviews, as there are a couple of missed opportunity: Evolution can be more present throughout, to see better how distant some species are (for instance the sharks, or the octopus, whose intelligent is unique among invertebrates).

-plants: it would have been nice to see, especially in the insect area, the name of the plant species exposed in the insect cages, or...
