Evin Pizza Pasta — Restaurant in Berlin

I don't understand why so many rate this place a 5. The food is at best a 2.

I ordered a salsiccia pizza; it was sliced sausage and nothing else, not crumbled on top as a salsiccia usually is. The pizza was quite wet, which usually happens if you use wet ingredients, like not drying the mozzarella. It was edible but not something to long for.

My partner ordered the carbonara pasta; it was not a carbonara. It was spaghetti soaked in heavy cream and small pieces of ham/low quality pancetta. She could not eat it all as she found it very bland, watery, and overdone pasta.

The waiter was friendly at first, but when it came to paying he did the guilt tripping of asking for tips. I said sure, round it up(+0.5 eur) and he seemed legit upset by the small tip. We don't live in America.

As for the atmosphere, generally the same everywhere in Germany; smokers absolutely ruin the mood. I hate that smokers are still a thing in developed countries. The area itself is decent, not too much traffic and the seating was good. Maybe not the best for people in wheelchairs unless you get a seat...

The food was okay, but the service was terrible. Firstly, the waiter interrupted our ordering, because he saw someone that hadn't gotten their food. Very unprofessional, he could have waited until we finished ordering. Secondly, there was no icecubes in our sodas. Lastly and worst of all, they tricked us into paying way more than we should've. I clearly ordered a small mixed salad, but they gave me the most expensive salad instead. I didn't know that when we got the food, because the description only said "small mixed salad". When we got the bill, I tried to explain that I didn't order what the bill said, but the waiter was very impolite, and only said that if we ate it, we must pay for it. They insisted that we should have asked, if this was a small mixed salad, but I'm not used to asking whether I got the right food at restaurants. So if you order a salad at this place, be sure to ask whether you got the right one. I ended up paying over 10€ more than...

Wow wow wow! I am amazed by this place. Myself and a family member came in whilst city tripping in Berlin. Our hotel is just round the corner and we couldn’t wait to have some Italian food as German cuisine isn’t really to our taste.

On arrival, the waiter was extremely helpful and got our drinks in a hurry. He spoke a great level of English to correspond with us which we really appreciated.

Then we ordered food, and the waiter was happy to change a menu item for us so we could have something that we enjoy. We appreciated this a lot too.
