When we arrived, we were greeted by a host, his name Philip I believe, who felt it appropriate to tell us, without any greetings whatsoever, to stay still for 2 minutes at the entry while the place was entirely empty and he needed to do business with his screen instead of even looking at us, even though we had a reservation. Then without asking, even though it was a beautiful evening, he insisted that we needed to sit inside in the middle of the restaurant. It was 5:30pm and the place was entirely empty but he thought we should get the worse seat in the house. After we asked to be sit outside, he literally threatened us by saying that if we sat outside "no matter how hot or cold or hot you get, you can't come sit inside understood?". We proceeded to sit outside. True enough, it was a little bit warm after the cloud cover went away, but because this "host" had threatened us, we actually tolerated it for an hour, essentially ruining most of our meal, even though the place remained entirely empty. After a while, I realized that the sun was beating on the building glass and reflecting back on us and my date (who has skin cancer), so there is no way I would stay there a moment more and we opted to move ourselves to another side of the terrace that wasn't beaten down on by the sun. It turns out that Philip also had chosen to give us one of the few awful tables outside on the terrace, also empty, that was getting burnt by the late day sun. Around the corner we went to enjoy our evening without so much as checking with the staff, but thought to ourselves how this so called manager ought to change industry and leave the hospitality business altogether. This is no way to greet people, and no way to force the worse possible conditions on what was supposed to a romantic dinner. Shame on Neni, shame on this person. It could have been otherwise a perfectly lovely Monday evening of May, but with such an instant power trip from the host staff I will never return there. This experience truly angered me and I don't know why a respectable restaurant wouldn't aspire to a more humble and...
Read moreWorst experience ever... judgmental level top in this restaurant.
So let me start from the beginning on.
We booked a table at this restaurant and were very excited to try their Lebanese dishes.
The waiter took us to a table. We looked at the menu and decided to order Balagan menu option which is including several starters, mains and deserts. This “balagan” was possible to order min for 2 people and up (as it was mentioned on the menu)
So the waiter came, we announced the order. But to our surprise, she said that it would be impossible to order this Balagan menu because we are three people and someone must order a main course on top, otherwise she cannot take the order.
P.S this menu option was so big so we weren’t able to finish it.
Btw this “menu” costed 112 euro.
We were literally shocked.. we explain to waiter that for us, it would be enough food, and we wouldn’t be able to eat more because we were not that hungry, but she insisted to order something else, otherwise she’s not gonna take an order. I will repeat… the menu costs €112 without alcohol.
Then the manager came and he confirmed we can order this menu for three people. But after 2 min he came back and said no and this would be possible as long as we’re going to buy something else like wine, they treated us like homeless people who are not able to pay enough money for their meal.
It was the worst disgusting disrespectful experience in my life in the restaurant, where manager and waiter tell you what you can eat what you cannot eat, what you have to drink and what is not.
I highly not recommend you to come to this place overall maid dishes and starter 6 out of 10. The desserts were amazing, thank you to chefs!! The service is horrible and disrespectful. The manager acted unprofessional and disrespectful. I would never come back after...
Read moreNeni is kind of IN location, with kind of FUSION food -according to their website. The locations itself is very nice, on the top floor of the 25h Hotel - Bikini Berlin, with a very nice view and deco. We made a reservation for Sunday and when we arrived they told us there was no reservation. They lady on the front desk was pretty arrogant and unfriendly. I can perfectly understand that mistakes like overseen a booking can happen, but she didn’t even bother to apologise and said that “even when her colleague has forgotten to write our name down” there was no table available and “there was nothing else she can do”. Just because it was Sunday 8.30 pm I really bothered to insist (I was staying at the hotel I really didn’t wanted to change clothes and start to look for something else), so I showed her the phone with the phone all the day before. She changed her mind and ohhhhh there was a table free. The service I have to say is amazing, at least the girl that attended us was very friendly and was very kind to even make some suggestions to our order. Unfortunately the food is nothing special as we thought it would be, our expectations were bigger. The menu includes some Middle East specialities that you can eat at any of the many Lebanese restaurants in Berlin, probably even tastier and for sure in a better atmosphere. The SAKUSKA was similar too all sakuskas you can eat in Romania, no marks of fusion here. And the same was the HUMUS.... not bad but nothing especial. Of course considering it is kind of “trendy” location prices are a little higher for what it is offered. We spent probably 1 hour here and there were still MANY...
