Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Museum Gunzenhauser — Attraction in Chemnitz

Anmerkung: Zum Stand der Rezension waren nur zwei von drei Etagen begehbar, daher musste ich nur ermäßten Eintritt (5 Euro) bezahlen.

Das Gebäude befindet sich in einem modernen Bau nahe einer Hauptstraße und ist daher mit der Bahn zu erreichen. Zu Fuß vom Hauptbahnhof sind es ca. 15-20 Minuten.

Das Museums-Cafe ist winzig, es gibt eine kleine Kuchen- und Getränkeauswahl für wenig Geld. Der Sitzbereich liegt an Glasfenstern an einer STraßenecke, man ist also ziemlich präsent.

Rucksäcke müssen in kleinen Spinden eingeschlossen werden, das ging aber problemlos.

Wlan gibt es leider nicht.

Die Ausstellungsräume sind groß und übersichtlich, Toiletten sind auf beiden Etagen vorhanden und barrierefrei. Nur der Wasserhahn war schwer zu bedienen. Das Licht ist angenehm gedimmt. Sitzmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden, könnten aber mehr sein.

Interessant: Die Ausstellungstexte sind mit Doppelpunkten gegendert - auch das ein Pluspunkt.

In der vierten Etage findet man eine Auswahl an Gemälden zur "Brücke" und anderen expressionistischen Künstler:innen. Die einleitenden Texte sind kurz und treffend.

Im Erdgeschoss gibt es, in drei Bereiche aufgeteilt, Bilder des sozialkritischen Malers Uwe Lausen aus den 60ern, der Fotografin Heide Stolz und des Malers David Hockney mit queeren Themen. Am Ende gibt es sogar ein paar Bilder von Andy Warhol. Insgesamt kurz und gewaltig, leider aber ohne erklärende Texte. Außerdem gibt es eine Bastelecke.

Aus meiner Sicht ist das Museum auch 8 Euro wert. Die Bilder sind interessant, die Erklärungen gut. Es ist aber kein Ort, an dem man danach noch sitzen und über Bilder...

I took lots of inspiration from all of the art pieces! Don't forget to get papers around every corner in the museum, they tell you about artists' life both in English and German. Also staff is so nice and understands English! They also have a cute cafe at the entrance where you buy the ticket.

I wish you an amazing tour in the museum because it's going to be! Take lots of pictures without flash of course and look into details of the paintings, I'm sure you'll get inspired.
