With a length of 370 meters, it is the second longest pier on Rügen after the Sellin pier .

The first pier was built in Binz in 1902 as a 560 meter long wooden structure. The reason for the construction was the efforts of the municipality to spare the visitors, who at that time mainly arrived by ship, the tedious transfer and loading of luggage onto smaller boats. With the inauguration of the pier on July 22, 1902, larger ships could now dock directly. The building received electric lighting, for which the electricity was generated with the help of a steam engine near the Binz Kurhaus. There was also a restaurant at the bridgehead. Just a few years later, the building was destroyed by a storm during the night of December 30th, 1904 . In 1906 a new building was built on the same spot, which was given the name "Prinz Heinrich Bridge" in 1910.

The new 370 meter long pier was inaugurated on May 21, 1994. It is 3 meters wide and has a water depth of around 4 meters at the bridgehead. [4] Today it serves as a landing stage for excursion boats. The Bridge Festival with high fireworks takes place...

Very beautiful (and long!) pier, good opportunity for bathing, if you are into that, but also very enjoyable for a walk. Might be a bit crowded during the day and summer periods, but there should be plenty of room to not get stressed out. There are not any interesting sights to get to at the end of the pier, but there is a platform at the end for rest nonetheless.
