The hotel is located 2 minutes from U-Bahn station Theresienwiese, very close to Oktoberfest venue, and 20 minutes easily on foot to Marienplatz. For the price we paid you will not find a better one in the central area of Munich. The room was ready before noon when we arrived. While reading other guests' comments, I wonder if we stayed at the same hotel? Some of the guests complained that they were freezing, sleeping with their coats over blankets – however it was quite the opposite! Because of these comments I took my warmest pyjamas with me that I did not wear at all, as it was very warm in the room (we stayed 5 nights in December). The radiators can be adjusted manually as you please, from cold to super warm! Some other said they had only one towel per person, we had two and one for the floor, and they were changed whenever we threw them on the shower floor. Room was cleaned daily, and it was quite large, with nice seating area, perfectly quiet (our room was facing the yard, 3rd floor), with comfy beds, super Wi-Fi (very strong signal). It is not luxurious, but nothing was lacking in the room (even the hairdryer was there, obviously other complaining guests could not find it, as it was in the desk drawer). Breakfast was standard and decent, the only minus for us was the lack of scrambled eggs. Staff was very nice and helpful and I would recommend this place...
Read moreI booked 5 nights here. On the first night, the internet was down and I needed to get my work done. Likewise the following morning. So I told them that I wanted to cancel the rest of my stay since their internet was down and be refunded for the remaining 4 nights (I offered to pay the night that I spent there), but the young lady at the front desk refused and started yelling at me that I wasn't allowed to do that, and how dare I expect that I could cancel my reservation. She insisted that they first have the chance to fix the issue. They followed me to my room and spent 30 minutes trying to fix the issue to no avail. Afterwards, they still refused to refund my stay. They were incredibly unpleasant through and through. I had to take several hours during my work day to find another hotel that was available so that I could get my work done. I'm not sure if this is the standard for customer service in Germany, but I will take my chances on literally anywhere else next time I visit Munich. I had to go through my credit card company to get my refund, but this was a...
Read moreI stayed at Hotel Fidelio in Munich for a short visit. Overall, it’s a good option for a short stay , location was close to main train station, breakfast was delicious — the price was reasonable, the staff were nice, and both check-in and check-out were very fast.
However, I faced some inconveniences. Inside the hotel, there are stairs you need to carry your luggage over before reaching the lift, which was tiring. Only after I finished checking out did I learn there is a side entrance that avoids the stairs — it would have been much more helpful if this was mentioned earlier.
Another issue was finding an unexpected “guest” (a spider) in the bathroom. Hotel management should really take this seriously and improve pest control. The bathroom itself also needed to be cleaner.
In summary: good for short stays with fair pricing and friendly staff, but cleanliness and communication about facilities definitely need...
