Von dem frei zugänglichen Wehrgang aus hat man eine wunderbare Aussicht auf die historischen Bauwerke und den verwinkelten Gassen. Der 90 Meter hohe Kirchturm von Sankt Georg ist das Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Wer den Aufstieg über die Treppen auf sich nimmt wird mit einem unvergleichlichen Blick auf Nördlingen und das gesamte Umland belohnt. Gute Parkmöglichkeiten sind außerhalb der Stadtmauer vorhanden. Es sind nur wenige Schritte zur Altstadt. In der Altstadt viele Plätze mit Sitzgelegenheiten zum Ausruhen. Jedoch Maskenpflicht! Being one of only a few cities that still have intact walls, it in and of itself is impressive. Standing on it felt like a trip down some nonexistent memory lane of myself as a medieval city guard, overlooking the city's surroundings. A must-visit in Nördlingen.

Eine ganz besondere Art von Spaziergang Die Stadtmauer in Nördlingen bietet einen wirklich besonderen Rundgang - einmal komplett um die Altstadt herum, überdacht und dabei mit vielen schönen Ausblicken aufs Umland. Es ist eine der wenigen (oder einzige?) komplett erhaltenen Stadtmauern Deutschlands und das merkt man bei jedem Schritt. Die Länge des Rundwegs ist perfekt für einen entspannten Spaziergang, nicht zu kurz und nicht zu lang. Zwischen all den beeindruckenden Mauern und Türmen trifft man leider auch auf das eine oder andere Kunstwerk im Stil „Anime-Fan mit Filzstift entdeckt die Welt“. Offenbar ist ein mittelalterliches Bauwerk genau der richtige Ort für pubertäre Selbstverwirklichung.... Zum Glück überwiegt aber der historische Eindruck. Unbedingt empfehlenswert für Geschichtsinteressierte, Ruhesuchende und alle, die mal eine andere Stadt erleben möchten.
