A quirky local museum celebrating Gengenbach's particular carnival tradition and others from surrounding areas. Every one of the 7 levels contained a fascinating collection of masks, costumes, and figures. The panoramic view from the top of the tower is worth the climb on its own. If you're not able to climb stairs though, unfortunately I think the museum is inaccessible.
I believe it is run by volunteers from the Gengenbacher Narrenzunft - I mean, you have to love a town that has a Guild of Fools! The staff member working on the day we visited explained the exhibits with such enthusiasm and patience. Shame on me for forgetting her name. She showed us a photo in one of the books in the gift shop of her and her daughter in their Fasnacht costumes.

Read moreein sehr interessanter Ort, wo durch Bilder, Puppen, Kostümen, aber auch in Bild und Ton alles anschaulich gemacht wird. Über mehrere Etagen sind hier beeindruckende Ausstellungstücke aufgestellt, um Einblick in die Geschichte des Fastnet in Gengenbach zu erhalten, mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Ganz oben angekommen, kann man raus und die Aussicht über die Dächer Gengenbachs und Umland geniessen....
