A very divine place to stay on the banks of River Ganga at Swargashram, Rishikesh. It is open to all Indians who visit Rishikesh for religious purposes. They have many different Bhavans which can accommodate thousands of people. There is no charge for hiring a room - only a security deposit is required which is refundable on vacating the room. One is free to make a donation for the upkeep of the place. Inside the main Bhawan are beautifully manicured lawns with a Lakshmi Narayan temple in the middle. Even if one is not staying here, it is worth a visit just to take in the divine atmosphere. Near the entrance gate is a huge bookstore which has books printed by Gita Press, Gorakhpur. It is stocked with books on all aspects of Hindu religion, philosophy, lifestyle and mythology. What is more is that these books are very nominally priced making one wonder how the press manages its affairs. There is also another store selling very reasonably priced clothes and household items of utility. The people working in this place are so caring and down-to-earth and greet you and each other with divine words and are always willing to help.

Geeta Bhawan is a spiritual and cultural hub in Rishikesh, perfect for those seeking peace, devotion, and knowledge. Located on the banks of the Ganges, it offers a serene atmosphere for meditation, satsangs, and reading religious scriptures. The vast complex is home to free lodging for devotees, a beautiful temple, and a well-stocked bookshop with Hindu scriptures and spiritual texts. The murals and paintings depicting stories from Hindu mythology add to the divine charm of the place. It's also a great spot to take a holy dip in the river and experience the sacred energy of Rishikesh. While the rooms are basic and simple, they serve the purpose for those looking for a spiritual retreat rather than luxury. A must-visit for anyone interested in Hindu philosophy and spirituality! 🙏📖🌊

Geeta Bhawan in Rishikesh is an absolute gem! Nestled along the serene banks of the Ganges, it offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The ambiance is incredibly peaceful, perfect for meditation, yoga, and spiritual rejuvenation. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist. The daily satsangs and spiritual discourses are enlightening, and the vegetarian food served is delicious and nourishing. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a beginner on the spiritual path, Geeta Bhawan provides an unforgettable experience that leaves you feeling refreshed, inspired, and deeply connected. 🕉

Ashram for Satsangi and for those who wanna stay for longer periods in rishikesh. I met some people who are staying here for atleast 1 month so don’t expect to stay for few days. You can have food at affordable price and there is a library too on the first floor which opens in evening. As you enter the ashram, you see lot of trees and greenery and a temple in the center with rooms built all around it in square shape. There are a lot of rooms but getting a room is not easy. It is very near to Parmarth Niketan Ashram which has slightly more rooms and facilities and can be booked online also. Date of Visit - 15/07/2022

There's a krishna mandir in geeta bhawan wherein there's a page on which the entire bhagavadgita is written. There is an entire garden full of tulsi plants. Rudraksha tree is also there. When you go out of the Gita Bhawan you'll see the famous Shiv statue which got famous during the Uttarakhand floods in 2013. At that time, that Shiv statue got carried away in the floods. And now there's an exact statue placed in the same place. Behind it the Ganga is flowing rapidly There's gita press, gorakhpur book shop nearby too. Overall the scenery is beautiful. Would definitely recommend.
