House of Mehmet Ali Pasha in Kavala, now is a museum at the old town part the city. Entrance fee is something like 8 euros for adults and 5 euros for student. Next to the museum you can see a huge sculpture of Mehmet Ali Pasha as well.
House has two floors and one big garden. Downstairs, after you enter, there is a exhibition about AfroGreeks, lovely culture and a good documentary. We watched it all through. Upstairs is the house with all parts: Harem, Selamlique, Hammam, Odha, etc... You must visit upstairs with wearing galosh, not to harm the floors. Galoshes are provided at the desk.
Museum reflects the life style of Ottoman Period very well. Each room has different story to be displayed in the TV screen and its own music.
There is also a cafe across the museum if you feel tired afterwards. Parking space is hard to find, maybe a little walking would be better.
A must...

What a pity! I wanted to take part on a...
