You can walk to the hotel from the ferry in less than 10 minutes. We stayed here for six nights in room 74 which is on the first floor at the front of the hotel. It was a comfort double room and was very nice. It was spacious and clean with nice furnishings and a big, comfy bed. The small balcony was at the front but there was also a window at the side from where you could see the ferries in the port. The air-con was good and the bathroom was fine. There was plenty of storage space. There was a little fridge, and a hairdryer. If I have any criticism it's that the room and bathroom doors both needed replacing. They looked old and tatty.|| The location for the beach, bus station and town was really good. The road outside was busy in an evening with everyone going into town but it never disturbed our sleep later. It was lovely and quiet.||When we arrived we were welcomed by Vaggellis who was very helpful and friendly. He gave us some reccomendations for eating out, many of which we tried. He explained the local transport and offered to arrange car hire for us which he subsequently did. ||The breakfast at the hotel was absolutely great. There was lots of choice and it was all delicious and fresh. Vaggellis's mum did the breakfast and we also met his wife and other members of the family. They were all so nice.||The fistikies festival was on whilst we were there which was great. It made for a busy town with a buzzing atmosphere. We found prices for food and drinks to be very reasonable with...
Read moreMy wife and I spent a lovely 10 days at The Hotel Aegina in Aegina Town and can fully recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a comfortable, clean hotel offering a fantastic breakfast and with a lovely staff who are always availabe to help their guests.|Our bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning made our bedroom very comfortable. We were in Room 63 and that offered us a view of the harbour and the ferries as they arrived and departed.|The hotel is well run under the overall direction of Vagelis. The front desk and dining room are managed by Amalia and Sofia, who are so charming, so helpful, friendly and efficient. They both ensure that the breakfast buffet table is fully stocked with the most delicious, tasty and wholesome food and drinks. The cleanliness of the hotel is a credit to everybody involved, including the lovely Ritsa, who ensures each room is spotlessly clean.|Finally a word about the location - Hotel Aegina is convenient to the harbour, the town centre, the restaurants, the beach and the bus station. It is no more than 10 minutes walk from the ferry port, yet the hotel is that little distance back from the front, so it is very peaceful at night.|We thank Vagelis, Amalia, Sofia and Ritsa for everything they did to make our stay at Hotel Aegina...
Read moreTO AVOID! In the photos it looks one way, the reality is different. The triple room is very small, there isn't enough space to put luggage. Everything is very old and dirty, there was no serious cleaning done in the bathroom. Something incredibile... the bathroom window overlooks the hotel lobby! Everything you do in the bathroom is heard by those who go upstairs. You are not allowed to throw toilet paper in the toilet! The windows don't have nets to stop the mosquitoes from entering the room! We had two sleepless nights because of the mosquitoes. The room was air conditioned, but the device looked so bad that we didn't have the courage to use it. The only positive aspect were the clean sheets on the beds. Otherwise, an ugly and expensive experience. We paid a lot of money and we were fooled. With the same money we stayed in luxury in Meteora and...
