ΚΡΗΤΩΝ ΓΕΥΣΕΙΣ εν Αιγίνη - KRITON GEFSIS in Aegina Resto — Restaurant in Municipality of Aegina

This restaurant was unfortunately one of the worst we went in Aegina. The food was ok, but really not amazing. The problem came from the service and the waiting time. The waiter was nice and friendly, and when I asked for a dish (rabbit) he informed me that je wasn't sure if it was going to be available. I said fine, and then didn't hear from him so I expected that all was ok. The dishes arrived, the tzatziki was ok but not the best, the fried zucchini were good, we had kefta meatballs which were a bit dry, and a gyro plate which was not very good. They had forgotten a gyro dish, and the rabbit dish hadn't arrived. When we told them they said "in 4 minutes!" and we waited again 15 minutes, and by then everyone else had already eaten and finished their dish. I asked again about the rabbit and told me that it was written on the menu that it took 25 minutes. But we had ordered an hour ago already! Ultimately the rabbit arrived and was really dry: it had been written on the menu as in sauce, but nothing like that. Only rabbit in oven and fries. Very disappointing. Honestly I think that they were just watching the quarter finals Euro cup match and forgot to launch our dishes. In the end they couldn't provide us with a proper bill with items and prices, amd when we asked them for it, they recalculated and produced a bill 18 euros less than the previous amount! They blamed this on a cancelled gyro that was counted by mistake, but it was not 18€. I feel that they just came up with an estimated amount and didn't produce a ticket. All these issues completely ruined our evening (even with live music!) and made this restaurant a very bad experience. We will...

Kriton is off the main restaurant strip of Aegina Town, maybe a 3 minute walk to the streets behind. We had walked past the restaurant twice during our Aegina adventure and commented on how we really wanted to eat there. And what a great decision that was! ΚΡΗΤΩΝ ΓΕΥΣΕΙΣ εν Αιγίνη - KRITON GEFSIS in Aegina has the best selection of vegan and vegetarian Greek/Crete food I have seen my whole trip. The handmade dolmades were exceptional, the bread with eggplant dip (as a courtesy starter) we so flavourful, and the Chestnut Stifado was the tastiest dish I’ve ever had. Even the olives were great to pick at between mouthfuls of food! The wait staff were so pleasant and kind, they served us Raki and fresh fruit after our meal. It was our first time trying Raki and it was an interesting post-lunch treat.

Kriton is a special island gem, I definitely recommend it to everyone going to check out...

Oh my jesus! I had the worst experience ever in my life. I had a piece of plastic wrap in my food. I immediately called the waiter and took it out from mouth to show him. He grabbed my food and plastic wrap instead of apologizing he asked me if I want anything else. His reaction was like it’s something usual to have a plastic wrap in the food… Then he immediately sent sweets (as they give for free when you ask the bill) like he just wanted to get rid of us so we wont complain.
