The mid part of the beach is the most posh we’ve ever been to. Obviously the place to see and be seen by sheik and oligarch youths. The front row pavilions cost €300, €150 for the middle row pavilions and in the back row it’s €20 per sun bed (so €40 for two with a reed parasol). The two front rows were all reserved (from the other reviews, I’m guessing this is rather permanent). There are bodybuilder servers in togas - serving food and drinks from the bar (try milkshake and toast!). There’s also a dj making continous zen-heartbeat-music that is distributed to loudspeakers along the beach. Not all the mixes worked very well when the loudspeaker farthest away had its sound reach you half a second after the closest loudspeaker, but mostly it was pleasant. It did add up to a rather luxurious feel. As an unglamorous family with kids, we were probably not their target audience, but we were comfy (and somewhat amused at the spectacle) all the same. The beach and sea is the best we’ve seen in Crete. Pure sand beach and clear seas. (The northern beaches tend to have more plant debris in the water.) The whole family spent hours cavorting in the waves. The parking beside the...

However, as mentioned by other users as well, if you want an umbrella right at the “entry” of the beach within the first rows, you need to reserve it in advance. As mentioned by other users, the reservations are relying on “special” criterias.
In my case, i reserved an umbrella for the next day (also got the explicit confirmation for it). When we arrived, Giorgios (claimed to be the boss there) told me laughing “i came too late”. This was not true, there were many places still free, and many other people coming considerably later.
Regarding the drinks: before to take the way back to the hotel, i had a Mythos beer there. This was the only time when the beer i got was warm and costed more than in the 5 stars...
Read morePerfect place with delicious and reasonably priced food and kind staff! The place is run by the taverna and not on the beach itself but it is literally one minute to the water. It's away from the crowd and you have an amazing view! You have some of the cars passing in front of us but that didn't bother us at all (also, you have the free parking within the taverna).
Most importantly, you don't pay JUST for using the sunbeds (e.g. like 30 to 80 EUR in other places) but you simply need to consume 20-30 EUR. We ate and drunk a lot for the entire day and paid only 45EUR in total.
We booked a sunbed through the chat function on google maps and they were super responsive! Will definitely come...
