I had an incredible holiday in Crete with my two sons at the Panorama Hotel in Stalis. The whole experience was seamless, from booking with TUI, smooth flights and transfers. TUI rep Angie is just amazing at her job. She is a credit to TUI. Thank you Angie.|The hotel's location was perfect, peaceful and beautiful, yet close to all the amenities we needed. The hotel was key to the amazing holiday we had. The Panorama staff were absolutely fantastic - Eva, Bledi, and Isella were particularly amazing❤️, always going above and beyond to make our stay special. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable, which was all we needed since we spent most of our time exploring the island. I loved the hotel's food, which was delicious and varied, and we had a blast exploring the local area, trying water sports, snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, and taking a wonderful boat trip to Spinalonga. The service at the hotel was top-notch, professional and friendly without being pushy, which made all the difference to our relaxation.||One of my sons did have a bit of a mishap with his eardrum while snorkeling, but the hotel's assistance and the medical centre they recommended were great. Everything turned out fine, and the hotel's support was really helpful. This gives me peace of mind as a mom returning.||I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the entire team at the Panama Hotel for making our holiday so special. My heart is full having made special memories with my sons in this beautiful place. We have a true connection to this place having stayed here. We're already planning our return trip to Crete next year. If you're a mom traveling with teenage sons, I highly recommend booking at the Panama Hotel - the staff are fantastic, the location is perfect, there are so many activities to do close by and they'll take care of you every step of the way. Don't hesitate, book your stay here and make some unforgettable memories with your family!||We...
Read moreWe checked in and had booked the budget room category, as it looked fine in the photos. As soon as we entered the room, I knew immediately that it wasn’t worth a single cent. The mattresses were visibly stained with various body fluids – including what appeared to be blood. I wouldn’t sleep on something this disgusting even if it were free. My dog has a better bed!
I complained right away and was given a room next door, same category – and the mattress there was just as filthy. The beds felt like they were from the year 1862, and the mattress was probably just as old. I took photos and asked for a solution. I’m not going to risk bedbug bites or even potential diseases. Also they were hard as a Rock and to sleep on the street would've been more confortable
The hotel was fully booked, and when I showed the staff the photos, I was met with a shrug and the question: “So what do you want now?” I said I wanted my money back. Without even an apology for the terrible condition of the room, the man sat down at his computer and canceled my booking.
I had been more than willing to pay extra for a more modern room, but unfortunately, none were available. Later, he told my travel provider that I had just been looking for excuses to get out of the booking without fees – which is absolutely false. This wasn’t an excuse; it was a matter of basic human dignity. I paid for a room that was supposed to be “okay,” and what I got was unacceptable.
If this man doesn’t care that guests who book the cheapest category are faced with an inhumane sleeping situation, the least he could have done was apologize – instead of accusing me of trying to scam him. I’m sure the other rooms are fine, but I strongly warn everyone against booking the standard double room!
I am also pretty sure they will delete...
Read moreThe new building looks awesome. Complete disconnect from the old one (which also houses the reception - aka a desk inside the old tavern).
PLUS: stunning views of the main Falassarna beach and sunset from the pool area and our first floor room proximity to the beach (1 min by car, as we didn't want to walk in the scorching heat). very stylish, professionally decorated and spacious rooms, which were well equipped with a safe, good hairdryer, TV and iron. nice pool area with comfortable sun loungers and views.
MINUS: hospitality was seriously lacking. Other than at check-in, no one bothered talking to us, asking how we were doing, if there was anything missing, etc, as is usually the case with family-owned small hotels. We had to chase the cleaning lady to change beach towels. Found a bottle of water in the fridge on the first day, which was not renewed. But what really put me off was breakfast: definitely not what you'd expect from a hotel charging 260+ euros per night. No seasonal cut fruit at all in the middle of Greek summer? No fresh orange juice? Butter and honey in individually-sized plastic portions? Felt like we had stepped back in time and visited a hotel in the 1980s. The new suite of rooms deserves better, and Cretan hospitality is...
