Horrible attitude, horrible place. Avoid - or read below if you are considering going here.
There are women working in the kitchen that decide how things run and when we were there, customers were being told (at the till) that they had to pay with cash only. There are stickers all over the bar saying that they accept Visa and other cards. When customers were quizzing, they said the machine was slow.
We had no cash with us, and when I told them that, they went to main female in the kitchen and essentially asked to use the card machine. After a couple of minutes of talking about it and pointing to us at our table, she relented (but very obviously walked off from the conversation with our waiter in a disgruntled fashion). Only then did he start turning on the card machine.
He told me to wait a minute, and over 15 minutes after waiting for him to stop avoiding us - I had to stand up and ask for an update. He then brought me over to the machine and started setting it up (from the beginning).
I’m familiar with EFT POS terminals and I could see he was cancelling the transaction mid-set up. I asked him about this and he told me to be quiet. I then asked if perhaps Revolut could be used to which he said ‘shhhh’ and walked off to bring menus to a couple walking into the restaurant. Bear in mind, they still were not telling anyone coming in that it was cash-only.
When they finally set the machine up - we paid without issue, but it was 35 minutes after we asked for the bill.
Avoid this place if you can, they are...
Read moreThe service here needs major work. There are 3 women who sit and preside over operations here and even when they are in the kitchen, they refuse to interact with customers which is just bizarre honestly. You as the customer have to do all of the communicating for them.
They leave all communication to the poor teenagers working there and the sun lounger bloke called Olsi. If they find the tourists so miserable, they should change industry.
As a solo traveller, I was met with derision, judgement and a generally unhelpful attitude from 90% of the staff here. The food is nice, but is nothing you can’t get elsewhere with better service.
When I went up to pay, at least 4 members of staff just stood there staring at me, silently pawning all responsibility off on each other and shirking the onus to interact with customers onto the young girl. I’m really not sure why. Perhaps it’s because she spoke more than Greek. However I was stared at and waited for a good couple of minutes before the girl appeared. No one even ventured a “parakalo” during this time.
I don’t expect anyone to speak English but I do expect them to make an effort and not be actively rude. If you don’t like tourists, dont be in the...
Read moreGreat service at their beach area - the staff (Christos) in charge of the umbrellas was very polite, helpful and attentive to everyone. Service was fast and always with a smile, the food was very nice, generous portions at a regular price like in any other taverna away from tourist hotspots. Sun loungers were comfortable and in good condition, I paid 10 eur for 1 person in the end of September, 2nd row. The restaurants in this area pf the beach are closer to the water and it's a short walk to the showers, changing cabins and toilets. Parking is free above tne tavernas, and it's a much shorter walk to the water than in other areas of Falassarna beach. I came with low expectations of spending a day at a busy touristy beach and left with a great experience of a relaxing day and very pleasant service...
