After years of visiting Naxos I finally had the chance to explore this side of the island and came upon the amazing Mikri Vigla. This beach has clear waters and a mix of fine sand and very small pebbles, which does not get stuck on after swimming. There is a nice traditional Greek restaurant right on the beach serving various drinks and food. Right in front of it, the beach is free of charge and is umbrella-free, so lots of locals with families, and right next to it there are plenty of umbrellas that are available for rent, in case one doesn't own one. Read moreWe have been to SIX different beaches here in NAXOS. We would rate this the number one spot on the island for enjoying beach life. Yes there are umbrellas and beds to rent, but there is also open sand so you have room for your own blanket or umbrella, there are portable toilets, cafes Taverna/restaurants. What makes this the BEST! Is calm shallow crystal clear water that is comfortable to walk out into relax and enjoy your time. This is a beach that we will return to more than once. Others we tried: Moutsouna, Panermos, Alyko, Kastraki, Agios/Prokopios, Plaka. By far for comfort, convenience, and enjoyment Mikro Vigla is NAXOS number one beach. PS: TAKE ALONG A SNORKEL if you have one perfect place to learn if you never have...

The couple selling the umbrellas and chairs ridiculously over charge and we heard them continuously changing prices with the tourists, charging more and more. They offer “drinks and food” but it’s their personal cooler with beer and soft drinks in it so those get warm fast, and the lady will order a pizza for you from a local store as food (you can probably order yourself for a cheaper price).
Overall nice views, the locals visit but bring their own umbrellas and food and highly reccommend you do the same...
