Victoria Studios Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

Victoria Studios probably enjoy the best location in Mikri Vigla in that the beach is at the bottom of the property. Some rooms are almost on the beach! It is the quiet part of the beach as well a little bit further away from the sports side of it. ||||There are three different buildings and we stayed in what is perhaps the oldest. The room furnishings are basic but comfortable and very clean and the little kitchen is quite well equipped although we dont cook so we only used it for making coffees. Naxos is one of the greek islands where you dont have to be lucky or have inside information to find good places to eat - most places are good and a lot of places are very good so I would suggest eating out on this island. The only area where the room suffers is the bathroom which is small and uncomfortable but is the same as in almost every other place we have stayed on the island and we have tayed in loads as we have been visiting for almost ten years now. You can definitely live with it and with the luxury of being able to hear and see the sea from your balcony you would need a lot worse to spoil your mood. ||||The rooms are well built under principles that were common everywhere in Greece but seem to have been abandoned with some new builts in tourist areas Naxos included. So the rooms have both front and back windows so that the breeze can flow through and cool the room down naturally, the orientation and porches are designed to shade the windows and doors almost thoughtout the day and the balconies are placed in ways that ensure some privacy. There are mosquito nets provided I think -another useful thing as Naxos has lots of mosquitoes. In my opinion it is much better to use them and leave the doors /windows open to enjoy the sea breeze rather than close everything and use air conditioning.||The owner is very polite and helpful and I am sure would be pleased to provide any help or info you might need. ||Mikri Vigla tends to be more expensive than nearby areas (Plaka,Glyfada, Kastraki) probably due to the sports facilities here. For probably half or near half the cost of a room here you can stay in a perfectly good room in one of the nearby areas. Plaka beach is probably prettier and more quiet in my view. Nous avons séjourné 5 nuits dans cet hôtel avec notre fils de 2 ans, dans le bâtiment le plus proche de la mer.||||Chambre spacieuse (nous avons réservé la dernière chambre disponible, qui nous a été présentée au téléphone comme "petite" mais même avec un lit double et un lit d'appoint, il restait largement de la place), plutôt bien équipée (kitchenette avec frigo, vaisselle, plaques, cafetière et bouilloire, climatisation). La salle de bain est petite mais la douche est grande et (fait rare!), faite de telle sorte qu'on n'inonde pas la salle de bain à chaque fois.||Nous avions une espèce de terrasse à l'entrée, commune aux 3 chambres de l'étage, avec étendoir à linge, et un balcon (assez grand, de quoi tenir à 4 autour de la table) privatif de l'autre côté, avec vue sur la mer et assez bien isolé du balcon de la chambre voisine.||Quelques bémols : eau chaude parfois un peu capricieuse, literie moyenne (assez molle...), placard pour ranger les vêtements un peu petit, et ménage pas fait tous les jours (alors que le prix -75€ la nuit- est celui d'une chambre d'hôtel).||||L'accueil est charmant, Victoria nous a même prêté des jouets de plage pour notre fils à l'arrivée.||||L'hôtel est à 2 minutes à pied de la plage "véliplanchistes et kitesurfers" de Mikri Vigla. Une autre plage, très belle, plus calme, moins ventée et plus propice à la baignade est à 2 minutes de voiture / 15 minutes à pied.||1 petit supermarché (cher!) à 2 minutes de voiture (15/20 minutes à pied).||De Mikri Vigla, nous avons rayonné dans le reste de l'île, les distances sont petites, on atteint Chora en moins de 30 minutes de voiture, idem pour les jolis villages du centre de l'île (Chalki, Filoti, Apeirathos...). Nous n'avons fait ni l'extrême nord ni l'extrême sud de l'île, mais ils semblaient accessibles sans souci dans la journée.||Mikri Vigla est un endroit très sympa et calme, par contre, il n'y a pas un condensé de restos/bars comme ça peut être le cas dans certains villages des Cyclades. I stayed at Victoria Studios for 10 nights this month and it was wonderful. The Micri Vigla area is very quiet, there are actually two beaches and when the wind blows on the one in front of the studios, the one on the left is very good. The accommodation is practically on the beach with sand all around and beautiful sunsets towards the island of Paros. I had the room on the 1st floor, it is clean, the linen and towels are changed often, with a kitchen and everything you need, a large balcony and a seaview.
