Oasis Studios — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

Room: ||We stayed in room 23 with view to the sea. The room is basic and clean. The only thing I would suggest to improve is the shower. The plastic curtains stick to you when you shower and the shower pressure is quite low. ||||Facilities: ||The pool is amazing, clean and big enough for the hotel. You've got enough sunbeds and umbrellas for everyone. You can order drinks and snacks from the bar and eat and drink by the pool. You'll have sun by the pool until 8pm in summer... Absolute delight. ||You'll find that WiFi is quite unstable and not very good,but that didn't bother us as we stayed away from our phones :)||||Breakfast: ||Breakfast is served at the table by the poolside by Manolis, the host. Breakfast is really good with omelette, fresh bread, fresh orange juice, fresh fruit with Greek yoghurt, and coffee. It's a great way to start your day. It's the same everyday through so after a couple of days a variation would be appreciated (maybe just poached eggs, or scrambled eggs would be nice)||||Staff: ||The entire hotel is run by Manolis who is a wonderful host. Manolis is always available to provide you with information about the island, tours and best deals. He arranged a taxi to pick us up from the port which was great. He's dedicated and has a great sense of humour .||||Location: ||||Hotel is located in between of 2 beaches in Mikri Viglas . The beach in front of the hotel is made of sand. Water is very clear and great to swim in when there is no wind (unless you're a kitesurfer and you love the wind). Manolis provides some beach umbrella and towels at your disposal for free. ||||On windy days, we would walk 10minutes to another beach beyond the hill where there's less wind. It's a rocky beach though so make sure to bring water shoes so that you can enjoy the sea. On this beach there are beach chairs and umbrella for rent (8€/day/2pax).||||In the hotel area, you'll also find around 4 restaurants to choose from ranging from cheap to expensive. ||||There's not much to do around so if you're staying for long, you'll need to rent a car or a quad so that you can move around as busses are not frequent. ||||Behind the hotel, around 10 minutes walk, there's a Spa called Orkos. Oasis studios (8 units in total) are situated facing the sea in the beautiful quiet location of Mikri Vigla with a couple of good traditional tavernas very close by. The accommodation is spotlessly clean with each studio having everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The small kitchen area is also well equipped. The shower was excellent with hot water available at all times. The decor throughout the accommodation is very tasteful and the pool and surrounding areas are very well designed and maintained. The icing on the cake at Oasis studios is however Manolis, who owns and runs the hotel. He puts his apron on each morning to provide and serve an excellent filling breakfast! Manolis will give you a “lesson” on arrival about the island and, depending on your interests, will provide suggestions for what you might like to see and do. He has a range of books on different aspects of Naxos which he is very happy to lend you. There are a number of beautiful scenic beaches within easy walking distance of oasis studios and there is a bus stop nearby. Hola,||En julio he hecho un viaje con mi marido por las islas cícladas en Grecia, y decidimos parar en el Oasis Studios en Naxos por 4-5 días. Nos interesaba estar de relax en la piscina y el jacuzzi, estoy embarazada y esta era una parada para la tranquilidad, o eso creiamos.||||El principal problema vino por el trato con el dueño, Manolis, que aunque inicialmente se mostró "educado", pronto surgieron los problemas. ||||El primero, es que se muestra muy dispuesto a hacerte de guía de la isla, pero de "su isla". No estabamos interesados en recorrernos todos los pueblos interiores a ver los monumentos a 40 grados a la sombra (o ir a los restaurantes y tiendas de sus amigos) esto ya lo habíamos hecho en Athenas isla de Delos, etc y para mí supuso un sobreesfuerzo... Cuando le pedimos ayuda para reservar en una excursión en velero (el teléfono de la habitación no funcionaba y tenía que realizar el personalmente las llamadas) no dudó en intentar convencernos para que no la hiciesemos, que llevaba 20-30 personas cuando debía ser de unas 12... que si era muy caro.. Pues bien, está bien que "aconseje" pero no que hasta en 3 ocasiones nos venga con lo mismo. Al final pudimos realizarla y fue una experiencia estupenda, e ibamos 14 personas. Esta excursión es la que está como número 1 en tripadvisor en Naxos.||||El segundo problema, fue el jacuzzi. El primer día nos dijo que podíamos usarlo cuando quisiéramos (faltaría más!) pero que debíamos avisarle a él para encenderlo porque no podía dejar el control en manos de los huéspedes (era simplemente pulsar un botón). Pero la realidad es que no quería que lo usasemos (?!), nos ponía pegas constantes. Quiero aclarar que de 5 días sólo lo usamos en 4 ocasiones, no es que quisiesemos estar todo el día en él. El primero, nos lo puso a mala gana, dejándonos ya claro que no le gustaba mucho que lo usásemos. El segundo, yo estaba echando siesta y le dijo a mi marido que para él solo no se lo ponía, aunque al final cedió. el tercero, me contestó de malas maneras que me lo ponía después del desayuno, cuando ya no quedaba nadie desayunando, eran prácticamente las 11 y sólo tiene que pulsar un botón. O al menos decirlo con buenas maneras. La última vez que lo usamos ya hubo el mal rollo total. ||||Para colmo, posteriormente este señor nos ha escrito un mail personal diciendo que no entiende nuestro malestar (nos fuimos sin despedirnos) "ya que el jacuzzi es de pago y ni nos lo ha cobrado". En ningún momento se nos dijo eso, ni lo pone en la web de booking, ni nos lo dijo al hacer el check-out y pagar, qué raro, que te inviten a algo y ni te lo digan, ¿no? Pensamos que es una estrategia para sentir que hemos hecho algo mal y no le pongamos malos comentarios en la red.||||En definitiva, que en vez de pagar por un hotel parece que estábamos en casa del Manolis, nos hizo sentir realmente incómodos. Por suerte esta ha sido la excepción, ya que de 21 días en Grecia, y 5 hoteles diferentes, este ha sido la única experiencia desagradable.
