Eugenides Foundation New Digital Planetarium — Attraction in Municipality of Palaio Faliro

In total our impression - for tourists on vacations it does not worth the money, especially comparing with several other planetariums we have visited. First of all it is not easy to get here or get out of there - there is no metro next to the planetarium, it is necessary to wait for a bus (we waited 20 minutes on the way back and the bus was so full that people could not get in). Of cause, taxi could be an alternative. The schedule of the shows is not very suitable for tourists with kids (the main audience of planetariums) - the first public show is at 17h30 (at least in February) finishing after 18h00, then the way back with tired kids in a full bus is absolutely not a pleasure. In 21 century this planetarium provides the translation to English only! So for the kids who did not learn English yet - it is just a stupid animation without learning anything new (while this is the primary goal of a planetarium I believe). Finally, on the ticket's check just before the show we've learned that in order to listen to English translation we have to buy headphones in their shop - it is the first time I face such a policy!! Finally, our opinion was - if we skipped the planetarium we would not loose anything...

We schlepped all the way over from the Acropoli in the heat and they are closed until 5:30 in the evening. Apparently it is really just a movie theater as we were given a program of the shows (all in Greek, which is fine but might matter to another) and the exhibition halls were closed. Only the cafeteria and gift shop were open. :-/. We tried to research what times it would be open and were given conflicting info about it from the local information guides, the dinosaur programs are only on the weekend, and apparently the schedule on their website must use flash as it wouldn’t load. Even if it had though, I would have assumed the Exhibition Hall would be open, what kind of a planetarium only opens...

Θα ξεκινήσω ενημερώνοντας τους ενδιαφερόμενους επισκέπτες (για όποιον δεν γνωρίζει) πως δεν είναι "κινηματογράφος" να παρακολουθήσει κάποια ταινία για να περάσει η ώρα του ή να απασχολήσει τά παιδιά του. Είναι ΠΛΑΝΗΤΆΡΙΟ ένας θόλος προβολής με εκπαιδευτικού περιεχομένου θέματα όπως το διάστημα η Γη οι δεινόσαυροι κ.α. Το επισημαίνω διότι την τελευταία φορά που το επισκέφθηκα με την οικογένειά μου κάποιοι γονείς το μπέρδεψαν με παιδότοπο μάλλον... Τέλος πάντων το θέμα είναι ότι ΑΞΊΖΕΙ σίγουρα να το επισκεφθείτε και για μικρούς αλλά και για μεγάλους θα είναι μια αξέχαστη εμπειρία ειδικά για όσους δεν έχουν ξαναπάει! Εγώ είχα από το δημοτικό σχολείο να πάω και ενθουσιάστηκα όπως και την πρώτη φορά! Και ο γιος μου που είναι 7 ετών "τρελάθηκε" μιας και έχει αδυναμία στο διάστημα και τους πλανήτες! Κλείνοντας τον σχολιασμό μου θα ήθελα να πω το εξής σε κάποιους που έχουν γράψει αρνητικά σχόλια για την ποιότητα εικόνας και ήχου. Δεν είναι ΚΙΝΗΜΑΤΟΓΡΆΦΟΣ ΑΛΛΆ ΠΛΑΝΗΤΆΡΙΟ και γι'αυτό που προορίζεται να κάνει το καταφέρνει μια χαρά, μίας και δεν πάμε για την 4κ ανάλυση ή για Dolby surround κ.α ήχο του αλλά για να μάθουμε κάποια πράγματα περισσότερα από αξιόλογους επιστήμονες και καθηγητές που έχουν αφιερώσει χρόνο και μεράκι για να μπορούμε με ένα πάρα πολύ προσιτό εισιτήριο να απολαύσουμε το έργο τους! Και να μην ξεχνάμε ότι στην ταλαίπωρη χώρα μας που ζούμε με τα τόσα προβλήματα και μια οικονομία να κατρακυλάει ολοένα και περισσότερο να ήμαστε και ευγνώμονες για την ευκαιρία που μας δίνεται να έχουμε αυτό το μέσο να ταξιδέψουμε μαζί στο διάστημα έστω...
