George Beach Studios — Hotel in Municipality of Rhodes

NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE!

We had a reservation for 5 days, booked 7 months in advance. But when we came, the owner said that he leased our villa and moved us to a tiny apartment - instead of a 100 sq meters apartment, we got a 28 sq meter studio. The owner said "even in 5 stars hotels they move you to another hotel", well, it never happened to me, and if they do they upgrade you and not downgrade. He didn't offer help moving our luggage the day after, and we wasted a couple of hours moving all our stuff. And the worst thing: he insisted that we pay the full amount, even though we got the smaller room (he said that he gave us air condition for free - in the day of a storm - thank you).

And the villa was not great as well. The (great) Nicholas Tavern is located 10 meters from the window of the master bedroom, so you have noise every night until midnight. In one night there was a wedding in the tavern, and the noise was unbearable.

The maintenance of the villa can be improved - the mosquito nets are torn, some electricity cables are exposed, and the kitchen has a very limited supply.

Finally, the villa is quite far from the beach, about 15 minutes walk, and to access the beach you need to go down a very steep slope (my 8 years daughter could not make it on her own). I guess that people over 60 will not be able to access the beach, and they will have to walk a longer route.

Overall, we were deeply disappointed. We reserved the room long time in advance, but they didn't keep it for us.

The owner, George, was really rude to us and he yelled at me several time that the small studio is VERY VERY NICE so we should not complain. I heard him having loud arguments with other visitors as well.

I wouldn't recommend this place, there are many...

Gli appartamenti Georges Beach Studios si trovano in una zona tranquilla, con parcheggio. Sono situati a metà dell'Isola di Rodi, ad un'ora abbondante dal Nord, dall'aeroporto e dalla città di Rodi, e ad un'ora dalla punta dell'estremo Sud, dalla famosa spiaggia di Prassonissi. L'aria condizionata funziona perfettamente, senza alcun rumore. I materassi del letto sono davvero comodi. Ogni due giorni viene effettuato il cambio asciugamani e lenzuola ed eseguita un'accurata pulizia appartamento. La colazione è servita in camera all'orario che si preferisce; ogni giorno è una deliziosa sorpresa. Si può consumare, se non c'è forte vento sull'Isola, sul balconcino attrezzato con un tavolino e due sedie. È fornito, inoltre, di uno stendibiancheria appoggiato sulla ringhiera con diverse mollette. Io ero al piano primo e riuscivo già ad intravvedere il mare; alla sera potevo ammirare lo spettacolo del tramonto. Sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa di aver trovato, nel piuttosto grande frigorifero, una bottiglia da litro di acqua fresca, la macchina del caffè con due cialde, il bollitore corredato con bustine di tè, di caffè Nestlé, il dispenser del detersivo dei piatti ricaricato, e nell'armadio il sale, il fornelletto per le zanzare in un cassetto, e una smart tv collegata con una buona connessione wifi, con la possibilità di vedere Netflix o Prime Video se si hanno i propri account. Le zanzariere sulla porta finestra balcone e finestra bagno sono state utilissime. Il bagno è nuovissimo e funzionale. Le prese di corrente sono due, una sopra un comodino del letto e una vicino alle due piastre elettriche fornello. C'è in dotazione una cassettina di sicurezza. Occorre fare attenzione quando si esce dagli appartamenti che la porta ingresso si può riaprire solo con la chiave. Meglio fare attenzione anche a non fare richiudere la porta finestra quando si va sul balcone. I proprietari Irene, Georges e la mamma, con Giulia che consegna le colazioni ed esegue le pulizie, sono tutti molto accoglienti e gentili, attenti alle esigenze degli ospiti. Georges cura il bellissimo giardino, bagnandolo ben due volte al giorno. All'ingresso della struttura c'è una doccia e un rubinetto, utili per potersi risciacquare dai residui di sabbia delle spiagge...

stayed end april till 2nd may 2018 loved the villa very clean and nice the people were very friendly who run it george and his wife was very helpful they also have nice polite cleaners everyday was very lovely was there for my daughters birthday so was noisy one night and downstairs complained we did apoligise .. just said like it was her birthday so they had a drink was very loud but after asked to be quiet apoligised and did.. george was very understanding. george was very helpful throughout our fantastic holiday would defo recommend villa to any familys groups elderly its beutiful quiet freindly you will love it thankyou for a wonderful stay was amazing for outstanding price as well xxx defo worth more...
