We absolutely loved everything about this place and if we could give it 10 stars, we would absolutely do so. In fact, it was a very first time when we dined at the very same place our entire vacation long - because it was so lovely! The owner and all stuff members are extremely nice, warm and welcoming. They would give you a lot of attention, any recommendations and would go above and beyond to see the customer happy (e.g. we really wanted to try one dish from the menu which takes quite a long time to prepare - so we said, that we would really want to have this dish the next day and they would start making this dish for us before we even entered the restaurant, so that it would be ready when we arrive). The food is very authentic, fresh and veery tasty. We tried quite a lot of different things from the menu and were always happy with what we received. The desserts made by the woman of the house are just great - we tried the panna cotta, orange pie, and our absolute highlight - the homemade baklava, is really worth a try! We also received a series of very lovely compliments - like some fresh (and so tasty!) local grapes or some ouzo. The view to the see and the sunset is just stunning. All in all - great place, warm and lovely people, yummy local food and beautiful views! This place is an absolute highlight and totally worth a visit (or even a couple of visits!:) Thank you Nikolas and hope to see you again in...
Read moreWent here yesterday after a 7 year break from Pefkos and omg what a let down. Used to be excellent. The restaurant has been noticeably updated, not that there was anything wrong before. I had linguine Bolognese which was tepid and obviously prepared way in advance (morning batch-cook). Bolognese was loaded with oregano, meat was dry and not of a Bolognese sauce consistency. My wife had pork medallions(should be pork pumice) dry, hard obvious signs of early prep.pork needs 3mins each side so no excuses. The main meal arrived immediately after the starters. This is no a fast food place, it's a restaurant so we don't mind a 20min wait for good hot food. Staff also looked like they wanted to be anywhere other than serving holiday makers. We asked what the cheese cake came with at which the waitress pointed to someone's table and said to go have a look. OMG! she couldn't be bothered. Taverna Nikolas you have clearly lost your way. Read moreVisited in October 2024 following an acquaintances recommendation.
We ordered the cold mezze plate as appetizer: Tasty dips but nut nearly enough bread to go with it. As mains we got the mixed Souvlaki and Greek plate. Mixed Souvlaki: Chicken was good, pork and beef were dry. Greek plate: This was the huge letdown. The dolmades were burned, as in bottom of the cooking pot burned. When pointing it out to the waitress she argued thst it was due tu a sauce, which was not the case. After I unwrapped one for her she went ahead and got us a new side of dolmades. The stuffed pepper that is listed in the menu was a stuffed tomato. When we pointed out that it is a tomato and not what was on the menu and what we expected, we received a shoulder shrug and an "ok".
