The castle of Skopelos once surrounded the country. All that remains today are parts of the wall, at the northern and highest point of the city, as well as in the east, near the church of the Annunciation. As is the case with castles on other islands, it is a single whole with the rest of the buildings in the settlement of Chora. Read moreThis is a nice little walk through and around the castle and some nice views back on the city. It was cloudy and windy so it was beautiful to experience alone. I can imagine this being not so great during summer with large crowds. I only give it an OK rating because I think walking through the rest of Skopolos town up and down the steps and side streets away from the castle, seafront and harbour is actually much more beautiful and interesting so go do that instead of you don't have...
