This was my highlight of my second trip to Budapest. As I did all the touristy things the first time around, I wanted to hit some design spots.
This villa is incredible! Though it’s small (I was able to do the visit in under an hour) I was able to learn a lot about Hungary’s design history.
The resident art historian, Livia, took me on a personal tour because there weren’t many patrons that day, opened up furniture so I could see inside, and opened the roof terrace so I could visit. She even took me to another nearby exhibit and opened it up just for me. She even gave me more recommendations for a neighborhood of Bauhaus houses to go visit.
Never have I experienced such kindness and welcoming hospitality at a museum, this is an absolute must for any design or architecture fan visiting Budapest!
