A really very nice and peaceful square, rich of nice monuments, statues, shops and restaurants too! Recommended to visit it in the evening or even at night because it takes on a different charm. I think with the Christmas markets it is even more beautiful

Visiting in winter it was a bit uncomfortable outside due to the cold, but on a beautifully sunny day the square was quite lovely with flowers adding a touch of colour in the centre of the square. Lots of attractive buildings and interesting shops.

Párommal sétáltunk végig Szombathely főterén egy kellemes februári napon. A tér maga szép, de elég kicsi, tipikus magyar kisvárosi főtér. A szökőkút téliesítve volt, semmi sem látszódott belőle. We had a walk with my girlfriend in the main square of Szombathely on a lovely day in February. The square itself is nice, though pretty small, typical main square of a Hungarian small town. The fountain was all covered for the winter, we couldn't see a single part of it.

Fontana sa nachadza na zaciatku pesej zony nedaleko posty. Je to klasicka fontana, nic vynimocneho tu nehladajte. Pre deti a na osviezenie postacuje. Voda je v nej cista, ale nepitna. Nase dietatko malo radost, ze sa tu moze dosyta vyclapkat v tychto horucavach, co tu panuju. Samozrejme aj tu plati zakaz kupania domacich milacikov ako aj v kazdej fontane.

Szombathely, Fő téri szökőkút és Szentháromság szobor a főtér közepén álló két legfőbb díszítő elem, a hatásúk remek. Szombathely a legrégibb magyar város. Savaria, Sabaria, városát Claudius császár 43-ban alapította, Colonia Claudia Savariensum (Savariaiak claudiusi kolóniája) néven. Pannónia provincia központja, a Borostyánút egyik fő állomása volt.

Hosszú évek során rengeteg arcát láttam a Fő térnek. A jelenlegi is tetszik, bármelyik pontjáról jól áttekinthető, a városrész térrendezése, a bekapcsolódó utcákkal, sikátorokkal, a tér épületei … szóval jó ötlet volt ez.
