The Ganges is a sacred river to Hindus along every fragment of its length. All along its course, Hindus bathe in its waters, paying homage to their ancestors and their gods by cupping the water in their hands, lifting it, and letting it fall back into the river; they offer flowers and rose petals and float shallow clay dishes filled with oil and lit with wicks (diyas). On the journey back home from the Ganges, they carry small quantities of river water with them for use in rituals; Ganga Jal, literally "the water of the Ganges".

The Ganges is the embodiment of all sacred waters in Hindu mythology. Local rivers are said to be like the Ganges and are sometimes called the local Ganges. The Godavari River of Maharashtra in Western India is called the Ganges of the South or the 'Dakshin Ganga'; the Godavari is the Ganges that was led by the sage Gautama to flow through Central India. The Ganges is invoked whenever water is used in Hindu ritual and is therefore present in all sacred waters.Despite this, nothing is more stirring for a Hindu than a dip in the actual river, which is thought to remit sins, especially at one of the famous tirthas such as Gangothri, Haridwar, Triveni Sangam at Allahabad, or Varanasi. The symbolic and religious importance of the Ganges is one of the few things that Hindus, even their skeptics, have agreed upon.Jawaharlal Nehru, a religious iconoclast himself, asked for a handful of his ashes to be thrown into the Ganges. "The Ganga," he wrote in his will, "is the river of India, beloved of her people, round which are intertwined her racial memories, her hopes and fears, her songs of triumph, her victories and her defeats. She has been a symbol of India's age-long culture and civilization, ever-changing, ever-flowing, and yet ever the...

Sabhyata Dwar is located near the Ganga river bank. It is situated besides the Gyan Bhawan at Gandhi Maidan. It's a beautiful, calm place with a huge Gate structure (like India gate) and architecture of historic India. This is dedicated to the culture of Bihar and it's people. Best thing is it's free for visit and photography. Families friends etc can go there and spend fair time with lush green garden compound and serene view of Ganga. The Sabhyata Dwar is built on an area of one acre within the campus of Samrat Ashok International Convention Centre, north of Gandhi Maidan.[5] At 32 metres (105 ft) high the structure is taller than Gateway of India (26 metres (85 ft)) and Golghar (29 metres (95 ft)). The Dwar faces Ganga on its northern side. It consists of two arches built with Mauryan architecture with a smaller arch on either side. The structure is constructed from red and white sandstones. Atop the arch monument is a small stupa upon which rests Ashoka's four-sided lion capital made from alloyed metal. The northern and southern faces of the arches contain inscriptions attributed to Megasthenes, Ashoka, Buddha and Mahavira. One can easily reach here via bus, auto or cabs.

Disappointing Experience at Sabhyata Dwar Patna Sabhyata Dwar Patna, a historic monument, has devolved into a "Chapri" spot, where people flock to create reels, disregarding the site's cultural significance. This has transformed the area into an unsuitable location for families to visit. Concerns: - Reel-making chaos: The constant commotion disrupts the peaceful atmosphere, making it challenging to appreciate the monument's historical value. - Lack of respect: Visitors prioritize social media content over preserving the site's dignity. - Government inaction: Authorities should address this issue, either by implementing measures to restrict reel-making or introducing a charge for commercial content creation. Suggestions: - Designate specific areas for reel-making, ensuring minimal disruption to visitors. - Increase awareness about respecting historical sites. - Encourage responsible behavior among visitors. Rating: 2/5 (due to the current state, not reflecting the monument's true potential) Let's hope the government takes necessary steps to restore Sabhyata Dwar Patna's original charm, making it an enjoyable experience for all visitors.
