Baba Bhalku Rail Museum — Attraction in Himachal Pradesh

Baba Bhalku Rail Museum at Shimla is a small but beautiful museum developed at the erstwhile Shimla extension railway station. It is neat and clean, well kept and has a legacy of artefacts at display to offer to the visitors. The museum is accessible through gate near old bus stand. Ticket is for 30 rupees only. But the best way to go to the museum is the joyride steam train from Shimla to Baba Bhalku Rail Museum at a price of 50 rupees that includes museum ticket price as well. Artefacts include old Bombay fornicator chairs, amazing crockery, doctor's equipment's of British times, archaic but interesting railway equipment and devices, Barog tunnel model, apart from other things of erstwhile North Western Railway of pre Independence era. Old railway saloons and and rail vehicles are also displayed inside the museum premises. The museum also features a view point from where entire Shimla can be clearly seen. At a distance of 1 km from Shimla Railway Station and 190 m from Shimla Old Bus Stand, Baba Bhalku Railway Museum was inaugurated on 7th July, 2011 as a tribute to the man who guided the construction of the rail line with his super natural powers.
