Dilli Haat in Janakpuri, often overshadowed by its older sibling in INA, is a vibrant market that brings together the essence of Indian crafts, cuisines, and cultural performances. Set against a backdrop that tries to recreate the atmosphere of a traditional village market, or "haat," it serves as a showcase for India’s rich heritage.

The variety of handicrafts available is commendable, with stalls from different states offering items ranging from textiles, pottery, and jewelry to artwork, providing a good platform for artisans to display their work directly to the public. This not only supports local craftsmanship but also offers visitors a chance to purchase unique and authentic items.

Culinary delights from various parts of the country are another highlight of Dilli Haat, Janakpuri. The food stalls offer a tempting array of regional cuisines, allowing visitors to embark on a gastronomic tour of India within the confines of the haat.

However, the experience does have its drawbacks. Unlike its INA counterpart, Dilli Haat in Janakpuri struggles with footfall, partly due to its location which is not as centrally accessible. This lower foot traffic can sometimes impact the vibrancy typically associated with a bustling market.

Moreover, while the concept is laudable, the execution in terms of infrastructure and maintenance could be improved. Visitors might find the facilities lacking, especially in comparison to more modern shopping environments. The ambiance, while attempting to be authentically rustic, might not appeal to all, especially during Delhi’s extreme weather conditions, as the open-air setting offers little respite from the heat or cold.

In summary, Dilli Haat Janakpuri is a commendable effort to preserve and promote Indian handicrafts and cuisine. It stands as a cultural retreat for those looking to experience the diversity of Indian traditions. However, to truly realize its potential, improvements in accessibility, infrastructure, and marketing are necessary to attract a wider...

Dilli Haat, Janakpuri is spread over a sprawling area of 8.00 acres. Very beautiful place, amazing beauty you will get to see here, you must come here one time. Dilli Haat, Janakpuri gives ample opportunity for food lovers to savor delectable lip smacking food as there are 14 Nos. of food stalls set up where one will be able to savor the flavors from across the country and 15 food stalls serving cuisines from around the world. visited there. Since I live in North side, so travelling here requires me an hour or so. After being there, here are few pointers:

The good ones- Decent place with greenery and open areas. In-built parking facility. The prices of things are well set and bargaining can be done when you are the first customer.

The bad ones- Gentry is not that great. Couples are lurking in the corners doing their romantic stuff. Washrooms are in poor condition. Staff is lazy and unprofessional. Stalls are limited and sometimes don't cater the needs. Quality of items depend purely on your luck.

I know after Covid era, overall of Dilli Haat is not what it used to be. But since now everything is back on track, I guess this place can be uplifted with more interactive and commercially...

I was actually waiting to write a review about dilli haat, especially mango festival.Dilli haat is slightly away from metro station. Autorickshaw might charge around 60-70rs for dropping. Its a nice place for handicrafts but might cost you slightly expensive. But the stuff which you will get at dilli haat is nowhere available. Toilets were clean and drinking water was also easily available. For eating ,much choice is not available as compared to dilli haat, INA market. We were expecting dishes made with mango as mango festival was going on but it was dissapointing. Only mango pickles and Anmol mango biscuits were available. Inside the auditorium 450 different varities of mango was on display. Ofcourse they seemed to be mouthwatering but they were only for display. At one corner different varities of mangoes were available for sale. In the corners you will also find love couples which might prove to be distracting if you are accompained with your family. There we ate honey chilli potato which costed 140 rs but they turned out to be very very tasty. We also tasted chuski for rs 50 and bhelpuri. Both were good and tasty.

We visited the Dilli Haat,Janakpuri for the winter carnival. The Haat is a conserved market for handicraft and various types of food. The Delhi Government managed Haat has an Craft section, a food section, an amphitheatre and a museum amongst other things. You can reach Dilli Haat Janakpuri by metro or car with the nearest metro being Janakpuri East from where E-rickshaws are available. Entry ticket for the Dilli haat are RS. 20 for adults and Rs. 10 for kids The Haat has a variety of shops both expensive and cheap but bargaining is highly recommend. The food is just slightly overpriced (Ex.Tea for Rs. 20), but highly recommend too. You can have food like pizza, Chinese food and pav bhaji. The place is very well maintained, the crowd is composed of people minding their own business (like taking selfies and posting tiktok videos) and the overall experience is very nice! The only drawback is that the place is small compared to Pitampura and INA Dilli Haat. Nevertheless, very highly recommended for visits and family outings (especially during carnivals and fests)
