I woke up early that morning, excited to visit Payyambalam Park. I had heard so much about it, and I couldn't wait to see it for myself. I packed a picnic lunch and set off on my journey. When I arrived at the park, I was immediately struck by its beauty. The trees were lush and green, and the flowers were in bloom. There was a gentle breeze blowing, and the sun was shining brightly. It was a perfect day for a picnic. I found a shady spot under a tree and spread out my blanket. I opened my lunch and began to eat. As I ate, I took in the sights and sounds of the park. I could hear the birds singing in the trees, and the children playing in the distance. I could smell the flowers and the fresh air. It was so peaceful and relaxing. After I had finished my lunch, I decided to take a walk around the park. I walked along the winding paths, and I admired the different plants and flowers. I saw a variety of birds, and I even saw a few squirrels. I also saw a few people walking their dogs, and a few couples sitting on benches, enjoying the day. I walked to the beach, and I sat down on the sand. I watched the waves crashing against the shore, and I listened to the sound of the seagulls calling overhead. It was so peaceful and calming. I felt all of my stress and worries melt away. I spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the park. I visited the playground, and I played on the swings and the slide. I also visited the zoo, and I saw a variety of animals, including monkeys, lions, and tigers. I had a wonderful time at Payyambalam Park. It is a beautiful and peaceful place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to relax and...
Read moreThe Payyambalam park adjacent to the beach here is no longer what it used to be: a spot of tranquillity for people to spend time sitting under the shade of trees and watching the sea while children played in the garden with the landscaping done by sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman forming a perfect ambience for a picnic spot. Plans are now in the pipeline to revive the old charm of the park now that the Defence authorities have agreed to transfer Defence land in the park to the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) following negotiations with the district administration.
The park with a total area of nearly one acre is crowded now as the DTPC is barred from carrying out any works in the 65 cents of land in possession of the Defence Security Corps (DSC) Centre here. The Defence authorities have now agreed to hand over the land to the DTPC following a negotiation initiated by District Collector P. Bala Kiran.
“The DSC Centre authorities have agreed to transfer 65 cents of Defence land to the DTPC in lieu of another land adjacent to the Defence land here,” Mr. Kiran told The Hindu . The land to be transferred to the DSC Centre has been identified, he said adding that the Defence land inside the park will be taken possession of after the government issues orders in...
