The best theatres I have been to from across Bharat. But on the chanakya play that happened on 14-4-24 it was a fiasco because the crowd was worst I had seen. Entering even after Olay started late, constant mobile ringing n 4 times the artist's had to request during play. Rich crowd who could afford expensive tickets but couldn't afford water or lozenges n were constantly coughing. Post intervel ppl entering as if it was garden. Many taking videos from camera. Eating crunchy snacks. Where I was seated it was clear someone had come drunk. The artists were visibly disturbed but maintained their cool. NCPA needs to rethink of how to overcome these foolish mobile owners. Utterly bad experience and clearly showed how inconsiderate many were who came in fancy cars, fancy clothes, fancy mobiles but zero manners....

As always driving through the gates of NCPA ,to watch a performance or attend a talk ,is always so exciting.Once out of the car,walking to the auditorium across the lawns,the wind playing with one's hair...a look around at all the other people gathered ,a cuppa of hot coffee or tea if one is early...feeling the soft tread on the carpet ,looking at the pictures on the wall for the nth time ,meeting a friend by chance ...a little chat here ,a round of laughter there and then the doors open and one enters the hall to sit in silence watching,listening,applauding and getting lost for those couple of hours taking in the creativie genius on stage.Every single time NCPA manages to send me back home ,joyous ,calmed and already getting ready to...
