Great Staff, Even Better Food
The staff here is genuinely courteous—quick to recommend dishes, adjust spice levels, and make you feel right at home. And when it comes to food, they truly deliver on flavor.
We started off with the Green Kebab—a soft, flavorful starter that’s just the right kind of spicy and served piping hot. It set the tone for what was to come.
Next came the Cheese Garlic Naan paired with Mutter Paneer—a creamy, mildly sweet sabji with perfectly cooked paneer. The naan was rich, crispy on the edges, and wonderfully garlicky.
And then came the real test: the Veg Thali.
It was generous, to say the least—an unlimited thali that just kept on giving! From dal and sabjis to sweets, rice, chapatis, and more, this thali could easily feed two hungry people. We ended up completely full and satisfied—maybe a little too full!
A Place for All Occasions
Whether you're out with family for a Sunday lunch or catching up with friends over dinner, Status Fort fits the bill. It has that comforting vibe of an old favorite, yet it continues to stay relevant and fresh.

Read moreVisited during lunch time. Had Gujarati thali. Very ordinary food. This restaurant serves a lot of items viz idli, vada, pav bhaji etc and gujarati thali happens to be one of the many things served. Therefore, to be fair to them, the thali served here cannot be compared with rajdhani, thackers, chetana, thaker bhojanalay Or even golden star thali. However, if you cannot be authentic atleast make sure whatever you serve is well cooked and fresh. Bhindi was raw, moong dal kachori was stale and it looked like they had sourced it from nearby farsan shop. Kadhi did not have uniform taste. Each spoon of kadhi tasted different. Palak paneer had a weird taste and smell. The only good item in the thali was khichdi with ghee. Kadhi khichdi tasted great and helped to end the meal on a happy note. However, gujarati thali contains food which is fit for kings & emperors. No one orders this thali with the objective of enjoying kadhi khichdi. Disappointed. Waste of time and money. Staff asked for tip while making payment. The other positive thing about this place is that it is somewhat better that samrat which is located few kms away. The restaurant was packed during lunch time which means hopefully their ala carte must be exceptional. It is surprising that Nariman Point despite being a huge, crowded and affluent area does not have many places where people can sit down and have a meal. There is no Gaylords, Copper Chimney, Kailash Parbat and similar iconic So Bo...
Read moreRecently, our office group of 12 friends decided to have a team lunch at Status Restaurant in Nariman Point, and the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. Located in a prime business area, the restaurant offers a comfortable, spacious, and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for group gatherings.
We started with a round of soups and paneer tikka, which were served hot and full of flavor — the paneer was soft, well-marinated, and grilled to perfection. The real highlight for most of us was the Gujarati Thali — a delicious spread of traditional items including kachori, dal, kadhi, vegetables, rotis, puris, rice, and sweet dishes. The aam ras was pure bliss — thick, chilled, and just the right sweetness, instantly taking us to mango season vibes.
We also ordered a variety of kebabs, which were juicy and well-spiced, and ended the meal with a round of coffee and chocolate ice cream. The service was quick despite our large group, and the staff was courteous and attentive throughout.
What really stood out was the authenticity of flavors, the variety on the menu, and the ability of the restaurant to cater to both traditional and North Indian palates with equal finesse. The ambience was calm despite being busy, and it was easy to converse and relax.
Overall, it was a memorable lunch experience, and I’d highly recommend Status Restaurant for anyone looking for a well-balanced vegetarian meal in South Mumbai — especially in a...
