This was my first visit to this restaurant.

Upfront, I was served the bread basket having 4 varieties of bread, amongst which the red was the best. As opposed to my prima facia thought, it was neither sweet nor related to red velvet in any way.

In the main course directly, I tried a Salmon here in their default preparation, and it was very good although the sides primarily having couscous didn't taste nice. Reckon the traditional mashed potatoes would have been a better option.

I also tried another Salmon, this time specifically asking for traditional mashed potatoes at the sides, and it was given the way I would have wanted ( medium-done ) and was very good too.

The preparation time for both was c 25  mins, which is the average time for such dishes. The quantity was between small and medium when juxtaposed with the competitors.

In between, I wanted to try out an item from the buffet, a couple of cheese cuts, and the staff courteously allowed me to do so.

The mocktails were nice too despite not really corresponding to their descriptions. The first one ( orange-coloured ) ( exact name forgotten ) was quite different in taste, and on a bit thicker side. Kinda seemed like fruit juice more than the soda-based mocktail which it was ideally supposed to be. The second one viz Brazilian Virgin Mojito was the same as the normal Virgin Mojito one gets everywhere with medium power soda. I can only reasonably hunch that the prefix 'Brazil' is added to gain an attraction. Both were served within 10 mins, and the quantity was medium when juxtaposed with the competitors.

At the end, I was offered some special dark chocolates, they were delicious and I am thankful to the staff for the same.

The decor when compared to the neighbouring India Jones is not very fancy, there are about 25 tables in the restaurant which also serves the buffet and the area is quite big, and the background setting is medium ( India Jones in comparison has dim lights ). The chairs are of the same type, and at medium-level seating. The beverage menu is either not available or significantly incompletely uploaded on online food/dining sites/apps and necessary amends should be made on those respects. Also, the food menu uploaded on the food/dining app/sites is not updated, so the latest one would be appreciated.

Overall, it was a nice experience, and I will definitely visit again.

Second Visit

I began with the complimentary bread basket consisting of 4 types of bread, just like the previous visit. Coming to the main course directly, I ordered fish&chips on my second visit to this restaurant. As is the norm, it came along with French fries and tartare sauce. Slightly on the bitter side as they always are, and not severely fried ( so weren't too oily, which is appreciated ), and tasted nice. 4 medium-sized pieces so overall the portion was bigger than average. The French Fries were stale though, and upon complaining, a fresh portion was bought but this took quite a while ( ~15 mins ) and I had to give a reminder. The tartare sauce wasn't white and not on the thick side as normally it is ( but very liquidy ), and this was the smallest quantity I had got with a fish and chips dish hitherto. However, upon asking, the staff bought another quantity of the incredibly small tartare sauce.

The mocktail Sangria was fit as per the description, and I could feel the bitterness of the tonic water it consisted of. The drink came with apple cuts and tasted very nice. It was served within 10 mins and had a...

I, along with my wife and 3 year old Son had visited Frangipani restaurant in Trident, Mumbai on Saturday, 26th March 2022 - invoice attached. There was an event, which we were celebrating. We had gone there with big hopes of hospitality and taste, but ended up with complete opposite. We want to express complete dissatisfaction for not treating us as guests, poor hospitality, poor taste and unattentive, unconcerned staff. When we visit 5 or 7 Star restaurants, we expect high level of hospitality and super delicious food cooked by highly skilled chefs. We pay for it out of our hard earned money. Detailed review below:

Firstly, the restrooms were not clean. Sorry, to add the pic, but this is to expose the so called 5/7 star hotel - Trident. Is this how you maintain hygiene and make guests comfortable? There was no one to greet us on entry of Frangipani restaurant and we were clueless as to which were reserved tables and which were available. We identified the table on our own. No one attended us for at least 10 mins and we had to call hotel staff and ask for menu It was expected that on handing over menu, we would be served with water, but no. We had to ask for it again. We placed an order for finger chips for our Son, Chicken Biryani, Paneer Makhani and Lachha Paratha Finger chips were all perfect Chicken biryani was firstly very less quantity and was not awesome in taste as it should be in any 5 Star restaurant. Chicken was not tender. Moreover, we were not served with Raita immediately. It was served after 10 mins. That too, it was just sweet curd - not the raita. We were served with plain roti instead of lachha paratha. When we brought this to notice of staff, it was taken back and we had to wait for parathas to come. Secondly, Paneer Makhani gravy was too thin and blunt in taste. When we asked about it, we were told harshly that we serve like this only. When we insisted to check it out with chef, it was taken back and later the modified version of earlier gravy was served to us In the meanwhile, lachha parathas had come, but were very dry, no ghee/ butter Hotel staff was not even attending us to serve the food or re-fill the water glass. We had to call them every single time. They were not proactive at all. It was 12 midnight and hotel staff was busy wrapping up the work, rather than attending us to check if everything is okay. It had already spoiled our event and hence we asked to pack the remaining sabji. To our surprise, it was packed in an aluminium foil, the way local restaurants do pack. By the time we reached home, most of the gravy had spoiled out of it. While billing, when we shared the whole feedback, the staff just listened to it, without any reaction or concern.

In short, complete disappointment. It really messed our event. We want hotel management to check this and take actions. Please...

I held a conference here last week (250 people). The venue was beautiful but the staff were very challenging to work with. We had particular AV needs and despite many many calls and in-person meetings to go over them, the staff totally botched it. Videos would not play despite having tested them that morning (they decided to switch to a broken cable after we tested), the 'flat screen monitors' we paid for were actually large old school box televisions, and during the presentations staff were running around taping wires to the floor with very loud duct tape ripping noises.

They would not let us put our event banner upstairs (the ballroom is downstairs and quite hard to find) and the staff at the desk when you come in had no idea about our event despite asking for someone to help attendees find the room. The business center (shared with Oberoi?) was the biggest nightmare ever. They had some weird automatic formatting that adds a few cm to any document, so printing name badges was worse than a brain aneurysm. (Even when taking into account different paper sizes across regions). The color printer wasn't working and the black printer spattered colored ink across everything. A ten minute job turned into over three hours!

The food however was quite good and I got the sense the staff were well intentioned, just very hard to reach in advance by email/phone, not forthcoming with direct responses, and their AV equipment is very poor quality.

The...

Right. I usually start with 5 stars and deduct or mark up based on my experience. We came here as my son wanted to compare the Taj, we have been to a few times, and the Oberoi. We had just watched the India Women's team face the Aussies at the Wankhede and no taxi would take us the short distance to the Oberoi so we legged it. It was nice to see Deepti Sharma picking up her keys after watching her make a 50 about 30 mins ago. The staff welcomed us into the restaurant and we placed our orders for starters and mains. The prawn cocktail and grilled prawn starters were well presented, and cooked well but there was nothing special about their taste. Mains were the seafood risotto and the pan seared barramundi. The presentation was much to be desired from though they tasted ok but nothing special. I would suggest the chef should spend a few weeks as a sous chef with Gordon Ramsay to learn presentation. If theu can't afford Ramsay I would suggest a week in my kitchen, in London, will definitely help them up their game. Why I mention presentations is because Frangipani isn't inexpensive and the only reason for being inexpensive shouldn't be because they are based in the Oberoi. The chef needs to make an effort to cook and present well when they work in good quality restaurants. Oh and did I mention that they couldn't offer us any pizza or bruschetta as the oven was broken thus further reducing the limited choice menu down.
