My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful and sensual experience at Vetro, the Italian restaurant. A must try feast for the senses and a hidden treasure, located, in the lobby of the Oberoi hotel.
It all started with the Basil virgin Mojito a known scent but still a surprise to my palette, created and served by our server, Mayur, service with a great smile.
Our next experience some Italian breads and breadsticks with familiar names but one bite and you know these are special, they have such warm flavors and just melted in our mouths.
Donald, our server, will always remain unforgettable due to his unique story. I will let him tell it to you himself. He started us off with the chef's amuse-bouche, a beautiful cone shape with a special avocado filling that gives you a quick burst of flavor to begin the dining pleasure. We picked the Arugula Salad with parmesan crisp for our appetizer, The saffron risotto, followed by a beautiful braised lamb. Each of these dishes complimented each other and opened all the senses, Taste, Smell, Touch.
The other staff also made sure to engage with us and ensure we had a lovely evening. After our fabulous dinner, we didn't want to indulge in a dessert but the staff surprised us with a couple of dark chocolate filled with flavorful mouse.
One of the Sous Chef Pranab came out and met us and told us it was a pleasure for them as well to see us enjoying our evening and experiences. He then gave a new and very rich experience, a small slice of fresh mango over another kind of dark chocolate filled with another flavorful mouse. Wow! That was so special and the combination was delightful. Muah!!!
The ambience, the Italian soothing, classic music added to the entire experience and was so pleasant to our sense of Hearing.
If you have not been to this restaurant yet, take your special someone here for a complete opening of your senses. The expense is worth the memories you will create here. I will definitely return. Thank you to the Vetro Restaurant team at The...
Read moreThis is an extreme high-end speciality Italian restaurant in Oberoi that is known for their Italian food + wine. It wasn’t really the usual kind of Italian comfort food restaurant; for instance they don’t serve Pizza at all
Most of the menu items were quite fancy and had alcohol as well. Priced quite damn high. So it took a while to select a dish worth getting
Ended up trying the White Onion Soup with Ravioli as the starter. While the soup itself was quite delicious, completed by a person like me who never finishes soups fully; The raviolis were tiny, the size of a chip- and only 4 in number. I had to fish for it in the soup. And it was priced quite high for the level
The Gnocchi in tomato sauce was a major disappointment. It was quite an ordinary and basic pasta dish by itself but the tomato sauce literally tasted like canned tomato soup. There was no sweetness or any hint of flavour other than pure tomato which made it taste like soup. I couldn’t finish it off.
The prices are exorbitant and clearly wasn’t worth for my experience- although I should say there are certainly better and more classic dishes in menu that probably deliver the worth. But the ambience and service were top notch as expected from the hotel. They were very helpful in explaining dishes and overall serving the food.
It’s an overall okay place and good for people with refined taste and high end...
