This is my favourite spot for authentic South Indian food in Connaught Place, New Delhi. I have been here several times though this is not very reasonable when it comes to pricing.
Order a masala dosa, the most authentic and demanding South Indian dish. Believe me you will not be disappointed. I appreciate their South Indian Thali as well, though it sounds costly. Lovely South Indian veggies which taste authentic and different. This is what I am always craving for. They serve just two poories, sometimes I find it less. One can order more poories but each piece comes an exorbitant price of rupees fifty. So I refrain from it. Buttermilk (chaach) served with thali is enough to fill your stomach. Then you have plain rice and a small bowl of lemon rice. The best is a small piece of mixed uttapam. In the last you get a hot coffee in traditional style and that compensates for everything. Overall thali is heavenly. Sometimes I miss extra green vegetables. I wish they give a choice of one extra serving of any two items ( besides that extra katori of sambar) in the thali to satisfy your taste buds.
You also get some refreshing mocktails. Try them, they are good.
AMBIENCE: The ambience is nice but does not transport you to the south. They could create a mini South India inside with some guidance of an interior designer.
SALE POINT: A humble suggestion. Have a sale counter for South Indian stuff like sambar powder, papad (appalam), sweets, snacks like murukku, mementos like kathakali magnets, shell key rings etc.
Food packets for people on the move could be great. A person in a hurry or going out to catch a train or flight can purchase one or two packets and eat them during journey.
This is an excellent place to be if you love South food. Yes, they also serve north Indian stuff like paneer, dal tadka, naan, etc. Chinese stuff is also available though I haven't...

While the prices at this South Indian hotel are slightly on the higher side, the excellent service and top-notch food quality justify the cost. The staff is attentive and courteous, providing a level of service that enhances the overall dining experience. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are more than willing to make recommendations based on your preferences.
In conclusion, despite the higher prices, this South Indian hotel offers a dining experience that is well worth the expense. The combination of delicious food, tasteful ambiance, and excellent service makes it a standout choice for anyone looking to enjoy authentic South...

Visited for Lunch, Dasaprakash in Connaught Place is a well-known name for South Indian cuisine, offering a good experience.
Location: 5/5 – You can't ask for a better location than Connaught Place. It's a prime spot, but finding a parking spot can be a bit of a challenge as it is the case everywhere in Delhi.
Ambience: 3.5/5 – The ground floor has a good interior and feels welcoming. However, the first floor felt very congested and had a somewhat negative vibe, which detracted from the experience.
Food: 3.5/5 – The Mysore Masala Dosa was good, and it was nice that they served three varieties of chutneys. The one disappointment was the sambar; it didn't have that authentic South Indian taste and was not up to the mark. They also serve North Indian cuisine, but I did not try it.
Staff/Service: 4/5 – The staff were courteous and receptive. They handled their duties well.
Value for Money: 3.5/5 – While some might argue the prices are on the higher side, they are justified given the premium location in Connaught Place and the restaurant's legacy.
What could improve? – The taste of the sambar needs a lot of work to feel more authentic. – The first-floor seating arrangement could be improved to feel less congested and more welcoming.
Overall Rating: 3.5/5
Finally, Dasaprakash is a decent option for a meal in the heart of Delhi. While it may not be the finest South Indian restaurant out there, it's worth a visit for its prime location and overall decent experience, especially if you stick to the ground floor. One can...
