It is built by sher shah suri in medieval India during mughal period sher shah defeated humayun in few battle like battle of buxar and battle of chanderi in 1539 an 1540 respectively and became the first non mughal ruler during mughal era later sher shah suri was killed in a battle and humayun again got his empire. Way to reach there is not very much complicated one can easily be there by taking a metro or by taking a delhi local bus. Buses are available for this place and this is not so bad area where it is located. It has a great significance of history as it was bulit with stone completely with a great architectural style or fashion

The Purana Qila lake has been renovated and rehydrated, But the most sought boat riding is still awaited. This Lake is next to the main road, easily reachable and Opposite to Delhi Zoo. The sight is particularly beautiful at dusk, as the fort lights up for the night.
