The Boat House is located within the Lake Park. It’s just a short drive or walk from the main road to the park entrance. Parking is available in a private area, where the village locals charge for parking by issuing tokens. The cost is ₹15 for bikes and ₹30 for cars (though I’m not entirely sure about the car fee). The street leading to the Lake Park is bustling with eateries, craft stalls, go-karts, water games, and more, offering plenty to explore. The entry fee to the park is ₹15 per adult and ₹10 for children, with tokens issued for entry as well. The park is generally well-maintained, though the toilets are in poor condition and unpleasant to use—they stink badly and should be avoided if possible. The park is popular with families and couples, making it a nice spot to spend some time. There are swings for all ages, and while some slides and other attractions are under renovation, there’s still plenty to enjoy. Inside the park, you’ll find a large lake where boating is available. Two types of boats are offered: row boats and pedal boats. The cost for a row boat is ₹50 per person, and for a pedal boat, it’s ₹200 per boat (with a minimum of 2 people). The lake isn’t very large, and boat rides last about 15-20 minutes. While it’s not necessarily a must-visit destination, it is one of the popular tourist attractions in Yelagiri. This review is completely based on my experience.

Yelagiri Boat House offers a pleasant and well-maintained environment, making it a great choice for a relaxing day out. Entry tickets are reasonably priced at ₹20 per adult and ₹15 per child. The site is especially enjoyable for families—there are ample shady areas under large trees, a well-kept park, and a dedicated children’s play area. Younger visitors will appreciate the various rides, all available at affordable rates. Boating is a primary attraction here. Visitors can choose between row boats (with an attendant, lasting 12–15 minutes depending on the pace) and paddle boats (accommodating up to four people for about 20 minutes). All boat rides are charged at a flat rate of ₹50 per person. One important tip: Avoid visiting during long weekends or holiday periods, as the crowds result in significant wait times, often exceeding an hour for boat rides. Overall, Yelagiri Boat House is a worthwhile destination for a serene and enjoyable day, especially if you plan your visit during off-peak times.

The fag end of the lake is to be covered by foot only. There is parking lot not sophisticated one but raw. The pathway is full of street vendors and chat centres. After globalisation even they sell chinese orange, dragon fruit, thai guavas, rumbustan as local variety which gives but a smile. The boat house entrance is also full of souvenir shops and chat shops including non vegetarian spoiling the atmosphere with foul smell due to lack of cleanliness. Full of mosquitoes and flies in this area as well in the park area attached. Both mechanical and pedal boats are available. You can surely spend two hours comfortably. entry ticket is 20 per adult.

🌿 Yelagiri Boat House – A Peaceful Escape into Nature

Visited the Yelagiri Boat House on a weekday morning and had a truly pleasant experience. The place is ideal for a short, budget-friendly outing with family or friends. Here's a detailed breakdown of what to expect:

🚤 Boating Experience Options Available: Pedal boats (₹200–₹250 per boat for 20–30 mins) and row boats (₹50 per person for 10–20 mins). Recommendation: Go for the pedal boat for a longer, self-guided ride. It’s peaceful and scenic.

Safety: Life jackets are provided and mandatory. Staff are present to supervise, ensuring a safe experience. Views: While the lake view from outside isn’t very attractive, the scenery from the boat is serene and beautiful.

🏞️ Park & Surroundings Entry Fee: ₹20 for adults, ₹10 for kids below 10. Attractions: Kids play area with swings and slides, toy train, mini rides, and a garden.

Shops & Food: Numerous stalls selling toys, chocolates, and fast food. A small canteen is available inside.

Additional Fun: Gaming arcades and souvenir shops line the street leading to the boat house.

🕒 Timings & Tips Open Daily: 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Best Time to Visit: Weekday mornings to avoid crowds and long queues. Tickets: Cash only, so plan accordingly.

🚻 Facilities Restrooms: Available on a paid basis, but cleanliness could be improved. Maintenance: Boats are in decent condition, but overall upkeep of the park and lake could be better.

🌟 Highlights Calm and relaxing atmosphere. Great for photography and spending quality time. Staff are helpful, even assisting with photos mid-lake. A good mix of nature and fun activities for all age groups.

⚠️ Things to Note Some visitors felt uneasy due to the canoe-style boats, especially if they didn’t know swimming. Plastic pollution is noticeable—visitors are encouraged to keep the area clean. Watch out for monkeys that may snatch belongings.

✅ Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) A lovely spot to unwind and reconnect with nature. Not luxurious, but definitely worth a visit if you're...

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting yelagiri boat house that was nestled in an otherwise picturesque location. While I had high hopes of enjoying a tranquil day on the water, the overwhelming amount of plastic waste that had been dumped in the surrounding area left me disheartened and deeply concerned for our environment. It is with a heavy heart that I share my review of this boat house, highlighting the grave environmental issues it represents.

From the moment I arrived, I couldn't help but notice the alarming sight of plastic waste floating in the water. Plastic bags, bottles, and other discarded items cluttered the surface, creating an unsightly and hazardous environment for both marine life and visitors. The boat house's failure to address this issue was truly disappointing and demonstrated a complete lack of responsibility towards the ecosystem they operate in.

As a responsible traveler and an advocate for environmental conservation, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this boat house to anyone. It is our collective duty to support establishments that prioritize sustainability and work towards preserving our natural ecosystems. Unfortunately, this boat house fell far short of those expectations, leaving me with a lasting impression of disappointment and concern.

In conclusion, the boat house's lack of action and the presence of extensive plastic waste not only marred the natural beauty of the surroundings but also highlighted a deep-rooted problem of environmental negligence. I implore the management of this boat house, as well as others in the industry, to take immediate steps towards rectifying this issue and contribute to the restoration and preservation of our...
