Shri Ayyappa Mandir — Attraction in Uttarakhand

A beautiful temple with a peaceful atmosphere, located in a lively street. It's a 69 years old temple supposed to be the first Ayyappa temple outside Kerala. While in Haridwar, I stayed in the accommodation provided by the temple. The rooms are neat, clean and economically priced. The bathroom is also clean with hot water facilities. Haridwar Ayyappa Swamy temple is only one Ayyappa mandir at Uttarakhand. It's very near to Haridwar railway station, Shiva murthy chouk Kerala Namboodiri Brahmins doing pooja here. Strictly following South indian thantric pooja. Now it's owner is one Vishnu Namboodiri. It's the only Kerala owned shelter for Malayalee in Haridwar. This is the first Sree Lord Ayyappa temple in entire north India. Very nice ambience. This temple was constructed in the year 1955. Mandala pooja & Makara vilakku is normally celebrate here in a big way. There is a guest house also part of this Ayyappa temple. Car parking near to the temple may be a challenge as the temple is on the side of a very conjusted road.
