After this, Lord Shankar got absorbed in penance. Later, Asura Tarakasura was born in the monster clan. He pleased Lord Shankar by doing severe penance. Lord Shankar pleased and asked to ask for the boon. He asked for the boon to become a world champion and never die. Bhagwan Shankar gave both boons and the one who is born has to die.So he said that whoever is your son, I should die because he knew that Bhagwan Shankar will not marry nor will he have any children. Peaceful place in the lap of nature. Must visit place. Go and spend time there. It's nearby Mansa devi temple route. But there is no any sweet shop so if you want to buy anything you must carry from other in advance. According to mythology, the temple is the place where Goddess Parvati worshiped Shiva, and when Shiva appeared she asked him to accept her as his wife. Bilva is a tree which is quite sacred to Hindus. Its leaves represent the three eyes of Lord Shiva. This ancient temple is very popular among the local people. The temple is placed in a very idyllic and slightly hilly terrain. It is surrounded by some greenery and is one of the most visited tourist places in Haridwar. It is said that in order to combat the feeling of thirst goddess Parvati had started eating bilva leaves. Later on Lord Brahma came up to her with Ganga Jal or the water from the Ganges and offered it to her so that she could quench her thirst properly. This small water source from where Lord Brahma had gotten the water for goddess Parvati is now known as Gaurikund is located just about 50 steps away from the temple. The bilva leaves are considered to be a very sacred tree and it is said that one can see the three eyes of Lord Shiva in the leaves.

Shri Bilvkeshwar Mahadev Temple – A Tranquil Experience at Niranjani Akhada

Visiting the Shri Bilvkeshwar Mahadev Temple at Niranjani Akhada was a serene and spiritually fulfilling experience during my trip to Haridwar. Tucked away in the heart of the akhada, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and its peaceful atmosphere offers a perfect escape from the crowds. The temple is surrounded by lush greenery and has a calming vibe that made my visit feel even more special.

The temple is relatively small but carries a deep sense of reverence. I was struck by how quiet and calm the place was, despite being in such a historically and spiritually rich part of Haridwar. The peacefulness of the temple, combined with the sound of the river flowing nearby, created a sense of divine tranquility. The architecture of the temple, though simple, is beautiful and exudes a sense of purity and devotion.

One of the things I loved about the temple is its location within the Niranjani Akhada, which is one of the oldest akhadas in Haridwar. The area around the temple is pristine, and you can feel the spiritual energy of the place. The priests at the temple were welcoming, and the rituals they performed added to the sacred ambiance of the temple. I offered my prayers with a deep sense of peace and felt a connection to Lord Shiva that was truly humbling.

The serenity of this temple, combined with its historical significance, made it one of the most memorable places I visited during my stay in Haridwar. If you're looking for a quiet, spiritually enriching experience away from the more crowded ghats and temples, the Shri Bilvkeshwar Mahadev Temple at Niranjani Akhada is definitely worth a visit. It's a place where you can reflect, pray, and truly connect with the divine in a...
