Masjid Agung Sumatera Utara — Attraction in City of Medan

Mesid Agung (The Great Mosque) of North Sumatera in Medan which located at a main street about 1 kilometres South-Western from Medan city centre, is a mosque that was built a couple of tens years ago (more than half a century) on the land area that is not superior wide, but it is magnificent and noble in standard, and it is covered with a glittering golden shinning dome. It was recently renovated past some years, and now really is a wonderful mosque in Medan, and it makes me feel proud and respectful to it even though I am not a Moslem, During the noon worship hours every Friday, this is the mosque that lot of Moslems in Medan City like to come. It will be extremely lively and crowded, and the streets are also full of traffic. Traffic jams are a common sight in this area. This mosque of Mesjid Agung, along with another big Mesjid Raya (The Grand Mosque) which located at Southern area about 1 kilometer from Medan city centre, each of both is an iconic landmark building itself in Medan...

Really, It has been renovated and this mosque is huge. Masyaa Allah. The interior design is so beautiful. If you come here by your own vehicle, you have to park like at Mall parking area. It's cool, isn't it?

This mosque has 3 floors. First floor for Muslim praying and the second floor for Muslimah praying. And the third floor is still under reconstruction. There are escalators and lifts. The mosque is cold, comfortable and spotless. The bathroom? Oh my, like in the hotel 🤗

A magnificent masjid. It will be even more magnificent when it's finished. Yes, it is still under construction but it's already fully operational. The deep ultramarine blue interior really sooths the restless souls of citizens and pilgrims alike. The mihrab design is also reminiscent of Middle Eastern design. The interior dome finishing is beautiful. The golden exterior of the dome really stands out....
