Sushi Tei - Teuku Daud — Restaurant in City of Medan

My family decided to have reunion dinner here. We made a reservation for 10 persons and even placed order for food in advanced in anticipation for the CNY eve crowds. We paid downpayment of IDR 1,500,000, as requested.

We showed up slightly before 8pm and got our table on 2nd floor at slightly after 8pm. It was hot and stuffy, noisy like world war going on.

We proceeded to place extra order for drinks and fried rice.

After 20 mins waiting, 1 plate of unagi sushi came (yes, 1 plate!!). Then, followed by another plate of tamago sushi 10 mins later. Long pause since then, until we kept asking. They sent down 1 plate of fried rice and 2 plates of mentaiyaki. In total of 50 mins waiting, that was all we get.

We demanded some explanation from manager, but he/she didnt even dare to come out to talk to us. We cancelled the rest of our orders and asked for refund of our downpayment. It took them another 10 mins to settle our bill.

No single apology ever heard from any of the staffs.

Worst customer service ever...

Probably can't compare with the real sushi from Japan obviously, but still the best sushi bar and restaurant in town! I love their fresh ingredients and fish served. People are getting better at eating sushi nowadays, so the restaurant might be full especially weekends and night times. Recommended dish? I guess ALL OF THEM! (or is it just me who love sushi so much lol) But still, the best, fresh and healthy restaurant compares to other so far (never leave with bad stomach or bloating belly, compares to other restaurant with the same level). All Sushi Tei has the same quality so far, but they need to improve their hygene restaurant area (look, of all I know Medan's restaurants still have problems with hygene. Nonetheless Sushi Tei. I found small cockroach on their floor twice.. not as if other customers care that much since it is...

• Food Taste : As a person who loves Japanese food, this is one of the best sushi restaurants in town. Every meal here taste rich and fresh (especially for the sashimi) although sometimes salmon sashimi are out of stocks, other types are available to munch!❤️ and I also the very authentic mayonnaise.

• Price : Pricy but worth it!

• Place : It is located on the centre of the city, near Sunplaza, and they provide a large parking space. I love the interior of Sushi Tei, but hated the lighting to take pictures. But overall, it’s an awesome place to have...
