Compared to other natural history museums, there are many unnecessary duplicates of specimens (believed to be from the trophy hunting of the rich founder). The whole atmosphere is creepy. And there were a lot of arrogant texts and photos, I do not see much respect to nature from conservation perspective. Some specimens are not professionally processed, excess filling inside the skin of animals making them unnatural. The collections are not really displaying well according to their natural habitats or interactions between species. And I don’t see detailed descriptions about the animals as well. The “art” collections are made of killing thousands of insects, this is a place for horrible human-centric education. Please visit other natural history...

I am shocked, totally shocked. How can people rate this place with 5 starts?? In my point of view, this is just totally disgusting! Some rich guy went to Africa to kill Lions, Rhinos and Elephants, remove their organs, stuff their bodys with polyurethane and last but nor least place them into a fake scenery made out of papier mâché and plastic. Is this where these animals deserve to be? A lot of them like Orangutans and Elephants are also endangered animals. So please be aware of that if you gonna visit that place, you will support the eradication of endangered species all over the world by people who have it as a hobby to kill...

Wonderful and Fantastic place. What a remarkable contribution of Honourable Mr. Rahmat Shah to Medan City. Although he could have made it in Jakarta but preferred his hometown. Its a must visit place for all ages of people. Don't just see animals stuffed and placed there; assess the effort, money and determination of one man :Mr. Rahmat Shah to build all this. I take pride that Mr. Rahmat's mother was Pakistani-Indonesian. I wish I can publicize this gallery to the world for collection and variety of animal species. Luar biasa dan Bagus sekali...

DO NOT VISIT! This place is disgusting, and so unethical. I don't know why I thought it would be natural causes the animals died of and then got taxidermy but nope, some guy goes around hunting and killing all these animals for the thrill. I feel so bad for paying 150k just to support this cruel place. The man who hunts all these poor animals needs throwing in prison. And as I left a van pulled up with a large box on a crate so no doubt another poor animal was being brought in to showcase.... I feel so sad after visiting here.
