Blok M Square, located in South Jakarta, is a unique destination for collectors and casual browsers alike. The basement area is especially popular among those searching for books—ranging from rare originals to widely available pirated copies. It’s an open secret among frequent visitors that the variety here is vast, with everything from academic texts to old comics stacked high in cramped stalls. Alongside books, the area has gained a loyal following for its wide selection of vintage media, including cassette tapes, CDs, and vinyl records.

For music lovers and nostalgia seekers, Blok M Square offers a treasure trove of analog charm. Several vendors specialize in specific genres or formats, making it a great place to dig through crates of old-school albums or stumble upon forgotten classics. Bargaining is expected, and part of the appeal lies in the thrill of the hunt, whether you’re after a limited-edition pressing or just something quirky to add to your collection.

The atmosphere, however, may not suit everyone. While the building is equipped with functioning air conditioning, the comfort is somewhat compromised by the prevalence of indoor smoking, especially in the basement level. This can detract from the experience, particularly for visitors sensitive to smoke. Still, for those who can overlook this, Blok M Square remains a vibrant and affordable haven for analog enthusiasts and...

Like any typical ITC, Blok M Square provides visitors with various goods at economical prices. On the ground floor there are a lot of jewelry shops where you can buy and sell your gold bars/jewelries. On the first floor there are clothing stores and shoe stores for children and adults alike. The second floor is similar to the first floor, plus a big playground for young children. The affordable entrance fees will allow your children to play to their hearts contents while waiting for their parents to finish their shopping. The third floor is the computer center and camera center, where they sell various hardware and accessories that you may need. The fourth floor is the mobile phone center, where you can find many types of hand phones and things related to the hand phones such as casings, screen protectors, power bank, etc. Then, after you finish going around the shops there, you can go to the top floor to eat. The various shops there, ranging from Solaria, KFC, D'Cost, to many small vendors, should be able to cater to your dietary needs. You can also watch movies on the XXI studios located on...

This mall is a new one compared the old Blok M years ago. But it still looks good. Many many clothing stores here and so cheap. Also electronic store, phone, and service and foods and drinks. This place so so crowd everyday. And they also held some event too, like Street Food and Durian, I was there and that wasn't that full of people. They have alot of opitions though, it was good place to enjoy local food and looking around a new style of Blok M Square. This one is not that brand new, but still new one for me. I still remember the old style building because I always went there every weekend. This area is like hypes for young generation too. Alot of resto options around this mall, japanese resto and local resto. In front this mall also have another mall called Blok M Plaza and Martha Tiahahu park (still...

Easy access, with a terminal, MRT, and busway stops nearby. There are often food or Japanese-themed events, and a lot of teenagers and adults hang out in overcrowded restaurants. But in my opinion, the food at the restaurants is just average, kind of overhyped. If you head to the food court down by the beach, that’s the real melting pot. Besides that, there are many book vendors (some selling illegal or fake books) and music cassette sellers. I think Blok M Square is a complete package because it’s accessible to everyone. It’s just that nowadays, it’s a bit like Pasar Senen because there are many second-hand clothing sellers.

Good place for shopping at very reasonable rates. Small but beautiful old timer place with unique provider such second hand "old book" stores, classic audio instruments, even embroidery designs and services on the lowest basement with quiet and clean enough. I spent almost the entire day wandering through different levels of this place. The sight of so many tailors amazed me. Most of the people were quite friendly if you're a foreigner forget the direction of shops (got lost in it) or ask for help so they put efforts to help you. Tip: Restrooms are completely eastern - so carry toilet paper!
