Golden Boutique Hotel Melawai — Hotel in Jakarta

I was booked in to this place by some colleagues as it was near to the office I was visiting. I don't know Jakarta at all, but the location seemed great in terms of the immediate environs as there are malls, loads of restaurants and street markets nearby, as well as convenience stores. So very convenient location. Other good aspects: the bed was large and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and kind. That's about all the good side. The main bad point is that the hotel is both extremely dated, having tacky dated decor and fittings, but far worse, it's totally dilapidated. Everything is old, nasty and deteriorated. In my room, basically everything was damaged, dirty and old - dirty, crumbling walls; worn & holed carpets, and so on. In the bathroom the grouting was mouldy, things falling apart and just generally skanky. It's just waaaay too neglected and old and should have refurbed about 10 yrs ago. The shower was just a trickle - just not enough water to have a proper shower. Internet was ok but not great, and the breakfast was sub-par. Were I staying for more than 2 nights I definitely would have checked out and moved to one of the many other hotels nearby. 3 % charge for deposit using credit card and DEBIT card. the hotel was to pricey (MORE THAN IDR 600,000 per night) for such a hotel that feels like 2 stars hotel. this hotel only looking good from the outside but outdated and aging interior. very small lift that fits only 4 person, bring us to smelly old carpet in the coridors to the room with old wallpaper that sticking out from the wall. everything in the room is overly charged (mini bars to soap disc was crazily charged). breakfast will cost you IDR 150,000 plus plus for a very standard breakfast. Too pricey!
