The Museum's collection is interesting enough for those who love arts. As we can learn that beautiful arts are in our blood since he very first time. Human are even more creative in past years and it left over an inheritance for history. The location is in Kota Tua Site. While i came here at the crowd of New Year holiday, this place is pampering us with peace and space. Aside of museum, the buildings has its own wonderful ambience. It is old. It is warm. And it has little green park with chair for the visitor to take a short rest while feel the air breeze. Suitable for family who bring children. We went back home happily with nice experience here, remembering that we passed another Museums were very crowded and uncomfortable for infant. Ticket only IDR 5000/person (children under 2 yrs no need to buy ticket)

Easily accessible with public transport. If you are totally free with nothing else to do for the day, worth pay a visit to this museum. It is a fairly lean furnishings. The air conditioning is still not working yet, it would be great if there’s at least stand fan for better ventilation. Admission fee is IDR5K. One section at the upper floor, the timber flooring and spiral staircase are stored in it’s original form. After visiting the museum, we had a meal at the Batavia. It is a nice 2-storey restaurant with colonial interior and ambiance. On the upper floor, one can enjoy the view of the museum and Fatahillah Square. My only qualms of the restaurant is that most the imported beers and cakes are out of stocks. The staff are friendly, the one who served us speaks English well.

I'm going to share my review on the Pottery Class that is inside the museum. For the price of 55k IDR (entry fee incl.) this is very affordable and so worth it. Try to go in the morning before it's too hot, but the surrounding outdoor area is shaded with trees so no need to feel worry. You will get a 400 gr clay that you can work on for 30 minutes and you can't bring home unless you want it fired/burned there and that's another 70k IDR per piece. So for total of 125k IDR you will get the same experience that you get in popular pottery classes in Bali for around 450k. That's a lot way cheaper.
