Unforgettable Sunset Experience at RockBar Bali
I recently visited RockBar Bali, located in the stunning AYANA resort, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations as the best bar with the most breathtaking sunset view in Bali. From the moment I stepped foot into the bar, I was blown away by the combination of stylish ambiance and the natural beauty of the surroundings.
The first thing that struck me was the impressively designed layout. The bar is perched on towering cliffs, offering panoramic vistas of the Indian Ocean. As I settled into one of the comfortable seating areas, the stillness of the ocean and the gentle sound of crashing waves created an instant sense of tranquility.
But the real magic happened as the sun began to set. The combination of vibrant colors painted across the sky, the silhouettes of palm trees, and the glimmering sea created a truly awe-inspiring atmosphere. Not to mention, the bar's strategic positioning allows guests to witness the sunset in its full glory, creating a memorable and magical experience.
The service at RockBar Bali certainly contributed to my exceptional visit. The staff members were highly attentive, friendly, and ensured that every detail was taken care of. I was particularly impressed by the bartenders' expertise, as they prepared deliciously crafted cocktails that perfectly complemented the ambiance and enhanced the entire experience. The menu at RockBar Bali also offers a variety of appetizing dishes that cater to diverse culinary preferences.
Additionally, the bar's live music added a delightful touch to the evening. Talented musicians provided a soulful backdrop, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The blend of excellent music, stunning visuals, and warm hospitality truly made my time at RockBar Bali unforgettable.
It is worth mentioning that due to the bar's popularity and its location within the AYANA resort, reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak seasons. This ensures an optimal experience as you take your place to witness the captivating sunset.
In conclusion, if you're visiting Bali and seeking an extraordinary bar with the most stunning sunset view, RockBar Bali at AYANA resort is an absolute must-visit. Prepare to be mesmerized by the natural beauty, indulge in delectable drinks, and create cherished memories that will stay with you long after your visit. I cannot recommend this place enough—truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Read moreI’ve never written a negative review before but we just had a very unpleasant dining experience at rock
Firstly we were sat at the very back of the restaurant despite being promised a sunset view as we are staying at the hotel ($500 per night!!) with a dining reservation. Other hotel guests were sent to the main restaurant while we were sent off to the side, and weren’t even provided a decent table despite this. The area we were seated in only allowed us to order bar snacks and drinks, no dinner food! The waiter said he would move us as soon as a better table opened up but he did not despite us asking two more times to be moved. I’ve attached a photo of where we were seated for reference. We felt like the hostess judged us based on our attire (more casual but still conforming to their dress code) and sat us in this area instead. There was a lot of discussions occurring between here and the other hostess before they sent us in the opposite direction from the other hotel guests.
Second, they got one of our ordered items wrong so we had to wait an extra 20 minutes for them to bring us the wings (they brought us calamari instead), and tried to argue we had ordered wrong initially instead of just replacing the dish and apologizing.
Third, they didn’t bring us any utensils to eat with or napkins. We had to ask each time, for example we were brought sushi maki roll but no chopsticks. And we weren’t brought napkins until we asked once our meal was half done despite all our food being bar snacks such as nachos or sliders (again, no dinner options!)
And fourth, we had to ask two different staff to adjust our bill for the 10% discount. They kept insisting the price was right even though it was not. The reservation slip we provided them said our room number and our 10% discount when we were seated but despite this, they did not realize we were hotel guests and kept coming back to confirm our room number.
One of the reasons we chose Ayana hotel was to dine at rock bar as our friends stayed at rimba and said it was a highlight of their trip. This dining experience was the worst we’ve had in our 10 days in Bali, and was not worth us choosing to stay here or the final cost of the bill.
The hotel offered to rebook us for a second dinner for the following night but the food was so bad/overpriced that I would hate for that to be our dinner here in Bali so we declined. The drinks were alright but did not make up for the...
Read moreThe location and view is bar none, utterly superb and no wonder why people would flock here to experience it. However, while the view was very good, the experience in itself was very disappointing. Many have written about the differential treatment if you aren’t a resident at the resort. I totally get it if resort-staying guests are given a priority to reserve seats and in specific areas. However, as a business, a sizeable portion of guests are still those who don’t stay at the resort. It’s only fair if those who bother to travel far to come to Rock Bar and get here well ahead of opening time to get a seat should also be rewarded for the effort. The bar should think about putting aside a small portion of seats for such guests, rather than relegate these guests who have made great effort to get here to a far flung corner of the bar.
Also, the sun can be unbearable at 4pm. The bar does provide umbrellas to guests, but it’s baffling that guests are expected to hold the unwieldy and heavy umbrellas themselves with one (or even two!) hands. How are we supposed to eat or drink then? Picture for reference. When we asked for a table that has an umbrella holder or at least the holder that some tables have, we were declined.
It’s shocking that after operating for so long, Rock Bar has not found a way to alleviate this issue for guests. Shouldn’t it be one of the top priorities to give guests an enjoyable experience? How is that possible when we have to spend our time eating or drinking with one hand, or with a big umbrella blocking the view?
Also, we were not allowed to take the vernacular down to the bar despite it being 4pm, ie, opening time. Told to continue waiting until they give the go-ahead, or until they are done prepping. If you say you open at 4pm, then I expect you to be ready for guests at 4pm.
I also suggest demarcating smoking and non-smoking sections of the bar. You have a big bar — it’s possible to do so.
Overall, very little thought has been given to ensuring guests get the experience they have come here for and are willing to pay good money for.
Rock Bar has a great view. They know it too, which is why I feel they don’t put more effort into doing better, because they know people will just...
