Beware of the wrong parallel road that leads to the airport. Take the one next to Patra instead, a bit hidden with weird turning angle. The place is also only reachable from one road option now, where I used to come here through the big road to the airport.
If you come early, most likely the parking is free, otherwise, it costs 5000/2000. There is one area that barely fit two cars (in fact, it doesn't fit so one has to give way), but other than that, the road is wide and secluded enough before you read the parking area with a big 'Pantai Sekeh' sign. It's a clean, decent parking area with rows of warungs at the end. There are many stray dogs, they are nice and friendly. If you can't be kind to them, do everyone a favor and go back where the sun don't shine.
The beach itself is okay, located right next to the airport. It's considered newly renovated as it was very messy back then. From here, you can enjoy looking at the planes landing and taking off, or go for a walk through the statue and a nice walking trail.
Sometimes, there are garbage around, but I think they show good efforts in trying to solve the problems. There are garbage bins (simple but you would know how important they are on other beaches that...

However, cleanliness is still an issue, garbage is here and there, and the local even burns garbage at the wrong time. On my visit between 8 - 11 morning, someone burned the garbage, and the smoke flew around, quite annoying.
I was sitting in one warong, about to order my lunch there, when suddenly the smoke was just so disturbing that I decided that I had had enough, so I left for the next beach, Jerman Beach, and had my lunch there.
If burning the garbage is necessary, I think it's better that the locals do it at night, like after 7 or 8, or early in the morning, like at 5, where no visitors are coming yet. If they are serious about having more visitors in the long-term, they should be more thoughtful about what may cause comfort or discomfort...
Read moreSekeh Beach, also known as Airport Reef, is a hidden gem located near Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport. This beach is a favorite among locals and seasoned surfers due to its strong reef break and consistent waves. While not ideal for casual swimmers because of its rocky seabed and powerful surf, it offers a raw, natural beauty that contrasts with the more commercial beaches in Bali.
What makes Sekeh Beach unique is the close-up view of airplanes taking off and landing, which adds an unusual but thrilling backdrop. The beach is relatively quiet, with minimal crowds, making it a peaceful spot for those seeking solitude or surf-focused relaxation. Access can be a bit tricky, usually through the fishermen’s...
