3 Stars because our experience reflects that: just ok. We paid for private tour, dolphin swim and snorkeling experience. Highlights: 5.5 hours of unrestricted dolphin chase and swim and snorkeling.
Lowlights: Dealing with Captain Widi was mainly transactional unfortunately. No proper briefing, checklist of items or expectations set before our start, but plenty of coss selling and up selling.
On arrival, Widi handed us off to the boat without a goodbye or an introduction to our boat captain. Strange way to manage customers who have just paid you cash.
On wrap up, we were hounded by local tshirt and towel peddlers on the beach ..not greeted by any staff and the boat captain seemed like he needed another cigarette.
Widi didn't tell us anything about: bringing bread for tropical fish toilets and bathrooms are run by a local gang asking for 5K usage fee.... to bring our own towels
Set your expectations accordingly. This is not for anyone expecting a comfortable, clean and safe ride.
Our captain pushed the boat around at speeds even with me hanging off the wooden dowel leaving me with an abrasion injury. Should have said something but I didn't.
Well, we shot a bunch of dolphin videos and swam with some friendly tropical fish.
Don't expect coral here to be exuberant like in some other places. Our boat guy was unengaged and had...
Read moreThis is a general review of the dolphin early morning trip. Your mileage may vary, and this is not about a specific provider. You set off at about 6 am, on a traditional boat, together with other hundred or more boats in the area. On the way, you can watch the sunrise on your right, it's kind of nice. After about 20 mins going east, you will stop in an area with A LOT of other boats doing the same as you are doing. Every time the dolphins make an appearance, all the boats move towards that area, probably bothering the animals. it's likely that you will see dolphins, but the amount of boats in the same area where the dolphins are...probably not good experience for the dolphins. You can swim hanging of the boat with snorkel equipment. You could also be lucky and find an operator that would take you to a different less crowded spot. Don't pay more that 200k for this, and avoid the beach hasslers , book it online if possible. You may not see dolphins at all After the dolphin chase, you will have a snorkelling session, it's just OK, nothing to...
Read moreThis morning we took off into the ocean in the Bali Pandawa Boat with Widi as our guide.
What a FANTASTIC experience. Widi is such a lovley man who was constantly trying to get us in the best possible position to see the dolphins.
We were mesmerised by how close they come to us and how many there were. We saw baby dolphins with their mum, honeymoon dolphins and we even could hear them communicate in the water to each other.
To end off our trip he took us to a snorkelling spot that had beautiful coloured coral and unusual fish to see.
He was super organised and prepared for the tour. If you’re looking to go, Don’t look anywhere else Bali Pandawa Boat and Widi is you boat and man.
Thankyou for an incredible experience...
