Absolutely fantastic! my name is Tony Lacerda, originaly from Brazil and married to a wonderful woman from Nenagh, Co. Tipperary that I met in Guinea-Bissau, a tiny country in Western Africa. We where both working as missionaries helping the needy people of the country when we met. Married and with 2 beautiful teanege daughters, the treatment at GA Neuro, Cork University Hospital, it was top treatment and I had the most amazing, dedicated and fabulous staff team looking after me. Especially thanks to those ones that removed a frontal and agressive Glioma in my right front lobe. It was removed by the more than capable hands of the chief neurosurgeon professor Dr Michael O'Sullivan and his amazing team of dedicated neurosurgeons. Everything was removed and they managed to preserve all my brain vessels; the small ones and the central ones. All glory be to God that used their capables hands to removed this tumour. God is so God that the tumour was a primary tumour and it hadn't spread to any other parts of my brain or body. The dye and the followed up MRI SHOWED THAT the tumour was completely removed. Perhaps I'll still go to few sessions of radio to make sure nothing comes back again. A Glioma, it is a very agressive form of tumour that can atack anyone helthy and without any reasons. It's no hereditary. I got the best treatment FAST and QUICKLY and I have the privilege of having one of my daughters as 1st year medical student at UCC that will have the opportunity to interact with all this supperb people. Also I would like TO THANK the Irish government to use our taxes to pay for all the services of HSE, because despite all the critcism (if valid or not) delivers life changing opportunities to thousands of people of this beautiful and generous country. When I say that I know what I'm talking about it is based upon my own life experiences. I'm a well travelved man that have lived in different countries and in different continents. Thank you also for paying your taxes, which pay for absolutely everything at the HSE system, which saves thousands and thousands of human's lifes every year here in Ireland. Also I'm overwelded by the love, care and prayer support from Christians all over the world that prayed for me and my family. From the bottom of our hearts a MASSIVE THANK YOU! I would love to continue talking about this, because words are not enough to discribe what really happened at the GA Neuro Department of CUH from December 13th to December 16th, 2021. Writing from home and ready to spend Christmas with my family, it is absolutely fantastic. This will be a especial Christmas! Love you all that supported me and saw this great...
Read moreI had a nasty, negative, experience with this University located in Cork city Ireland as a law student. They refused to let me know if I had passed or failed first year law, long after those in my class had their results until I started inquiring what was going on. The dean of my class was indifferent when I phoned her, although she should have been all over it. The results office was even puzzled about the difficulty I was having. When I got the results eventually, they failed me on everything despite turning in essay after essay with no one saying a word to me. It is common practice to call in students for a talk based on essay performance if there is a problem. I was advised to take it up with the academic council. When I tried to they had suddenly disbanded and were unavailable. I was taking a civil case in the high court at the time and the writing was on the wall as far as I was concerned... They refused to release the exam results and kept the release of them shortly before the trial so they psychological impact could be felt and in the hope I might withdraw or discontinue the suit based on my incompetence as they saw it. However, I saw right through it. I was also using a high court practice book from the library and it was recalled by one of the teachers who kept for a very long time. The librarian told me she issued several recall notices. I had to buy the book in the end, which was well over a hundred pounds at the time ; as it contained the necessary documents and instructions to get a civil case to court. There was just five places for mature students in 1999 in the BCL class. I was one of them and could not, according to UCC, pass the most basic 'Introduction to the legal system' subject. This, despite the fact that I was a lay litigant in the high court and also completed a tough legal course before I went to UCC and worked with a solicitor and a barrister on that course as part of a work experience module. UCC are well aware that a proportion of their law students are involved in legal proceedings which is the key central reason why their studying law — to litigate and get resources. I even remember one of them in my class saying in a lecture she was taking a constitutional case. This crowd stuck their nose in my business — business which was absolutely none of theirs. Obviously, I would certainly not recommend this university based on my...
